The Seaforth pee-wees have
started the season off on the right
foot with their second win in as
Many starts. After the first inning
Seaforth led six to zot. The game
proceeded slowly under a slight
drizzle. , At the end of four innings
Huron Park had crept up to within
one run. Seaforth under hot
pressure came through with three
• runs in the fourth and fifth to
open up a gap of six runs. At the
end of Huron Park's. part of the
sixth inning the game was called
due to rain by head umpire Roger
Bennewies. Final score Seaforth
12-Huron Park 6.
Manager Moe (Mauch) Huard
states that ,,the turning point of
the game was his hunch to change
pitchers even though his starter
had produced well. Moe and his
staff believe that the team has
sharpened up since their last
outing and is predicting that there
is a fine season ahead for
his great team.
When the pressure was onthe
hitters produced well and the
pitchers allowed only three hits
all game.- - •
The management of the pee-
wees would like to thank all
those who came out to support
the team. Next home game is on
Thursday June llthj everybody
is welcome.

PEE-WEES STRETCH
STREAK TO THREE
The pee-wees stretched their
winning streak to three games as
they defeated Goderich eight to.
two last Sunday night. Behind the
one hit pitching of Bill O'Shea and
Kevin Bennett and the big bats of
Rick Scott', Terry Stephenson, and
Ross Govier who together drove
in six of Seaforth's eight runs.
Seaforth burst out in the first
inning with three runs and added
three more in the fourth. With the
help of the strong pitching, and
good fielding they were able to
keep Goderich off the scoreboard
until, the fifth inning when they
finally pushed across a run. Sea-
forth scored two in the sixth.
While Goderich struggled for
their first hit of the game in the
seventh which produced their se-
cond run.
Manager Moe (Mauch) and I
quote says' "that his team, can
produce runs at any time." He has
high hopes that his hot bats can
keep 'the streak alive tonight at
the Lions Park. Game time
6:30.

St. Columban remained the
only team with a perfect record
as they blanked the Goderich
Rangers 2-0 in a London & Dis-
trict Soccer League game played
at Seaforth on Saturday.
St. Columban carried most of
the play In the 1st hall and had
many fine scoring chances, but
the strong defensive play of Go-
derich centre-half, Howie Gotts-
chalk, and goalie, Carl Moller,
held the game scoreless at half-
time.
In the and half, St, Columban
continued to carry the play, with,
Goderich being pressed in their
own end constantly. St. Columban
finally, scored mtd-way through
the half when Gord Moylan
dropped a corner kidk in front of
the Ranger goal and George Love
headed the ball into the top right
corner of the net. St. Columban
continued to press the attack aid
Tom Love made it 2-0 when he
deflected 'the ball past the Go-
derich goalie late in the game.
St. Cqlumban 'goalie, Paul
O'Reilly, had a fairly easy night
in recording his second shut-out
of the season.
The next St. Columban game
will be in St. Mary's on Saturday
June. 13th, with kick-off at 6:00
June 20th is an open date for
St. Columban and they will play
'in London on June 027th -against
Roma F.C.

Kick the ,
Habit
June is busting out all over.
With KICK THE. HABIT cam-
paigns again& cigarette smok-
ing.
Christmas Seal associations
across the country are.waging
an intensive, month-long cam-, '
paign to urge smokers to
chuck their cigarettes. For a
day, a week, a month, For-
ever,' hopefully.
Becoming a nonsmoker Or
takes practice. Most smokers
try to quit once. And fail. And.
try again and again. It's all
practice and eventually they
kick the habit or cut down
drastically. But some heavy
smokers simply have to quit •
"cold turkey". They are so
hungup on smoking that they
have to make a dramatic and
complete break.
Smokers who quit success-
fully adopt certain attitudes.
They see quitting as a big plus
and smoking as a major min • -
us. Smokers who don't man-
' age to quit still see cigarettes
as a kind of friend, always
there when needed. In- con-
trast, -these smokers resent
being deprived of cigarettes.
Thinking of quitting as a
positive act instead of personal •
deprivatidn makes the differ-
ence. And one in every three
persons who tries to quit suc-
ceeds. More than 21 million
Americans have now. kicked
the habit.
Two leaflets are available
free from.your Christmas Seal
association. ME ,QUIT, S;VIOK-

the special assist lots of smok-
ers want. Your Association al-
so has information about with-
drawal prOgrams, and other
antismoking activities. 0
