SEAFORTH ROLLER
MAKE IT A MARATHON
St. Columban came up with
their most impressive game of
the season when they downed
London Scottish 5-1 in a London
and District Soccer game played
at London on Saturday. The Scot-
tish team which were in the 1st
rr
Division last year and had won all
their games to date, this year
were surprised by' the strong St.
Columhan offence and a very
stubborn defence.
St. Columbin opened the scor-
ing early in the first half when
Gord Moylan made a lead pass to
Gerald Ryan who cut in on the
left side and beat the Scottish
goalie with a blazing shot to the
far corner of the net.
St. Columban . made it 2-0
about ten minutes later when Tom
Love beat two Scottish defenders
and scored on 'a high shot over the
goalie who had gone down to block
the shot..
The score was raised to 3-0
when Tom Love broke past the
Scottish defence on the right side
St. Columban made it 4-0 when
George Love centred the ball
from the right wing and Tom Love
beat the Scottish goalie with a
low shot for his third goal of the
game. •
St. Columban scored again
when Gerald Ryan cut into centre
from the left wing and fired a,
hard shot that eluded the London
goalie for his second goal of the
game to make it 5-0.
On the very last play of the
game, Scottish were awarded .
another penalty shot and this time
they finally scored with a shot
Just inside the right goal post.

The Seaforth Lawn Bowling
Club opened their 1970 season
Tuesday evening with a pot luck
supper held at the club house.
Twenty-two attended the supper
and enjoyed a game of bowling
on the greens, while someplayed

The ladies held a short busin-
ess meeting and a motion was
passed to increase the 197,0-71
fees to $5.00 per member and
for new and associate members
$3.00. -
The greens were a little heavy
due to the rain but are in very
good shape. The men have done-
, considerable work to the club-
house and the ladies have been
busy cleaning and painting. Open
jitneys will start on Tuesday
evening, June 2nd and we welcome
all new and old bowlers alike. The
men will be in charge for the
