meeting on Sunday with 33 mem-
bers present. Miss Pamela Rodd
opened the meeting with Quiet
Music and the President Karen
Insley gave the Call to Worship
and led in prayer. Lori Webb
read the Scripture and Cynthia
Copeland, Calvin Rodd and Mar-
garet Parkinson read poems for
Mother'e Day. R trio was sung
by Pamela Rodd, Karen Insley
and Lori Webb after which Mrs.
Lloyd Cowdrey read them a story.

The United Church Women
met Tuesday evening with 20
members present. Mrs. Ted Ins-
ley opened the meeting withQuiet
Music and -Mrs. Don Brine gave
the Call to Worship and a reading
on Mothers. Mrs. Ken Langford
read the Scripture and MrS.Ger-
ald Brinttiell led in prayer. A
solo was sung by Mrs. Lloyd
Cowdrey followed by readings by
Mrs. Nelson Baker and Mrs.
Elmer „Stevens and a story by
Wee Don Brine. Mrs. Glenn
Copeland presented the Study
NORMAN E. NORRIS
Norman E. Norris, el, of Sea-
forth, died Thursday, May 14th, in
Seettorth Community Hospital fol-
lowing an illness of seven weeks.
Re had been a resident of the
town since 1963 and served as
a rural mall carrier in this dis-
trict till the time pf his death.
Prior to residing in Seaforth
he had spent most of his working
years with the traffic and -trans-
portation division of the CNR.
He was born in West Webster,
N.Y., but came to Toronto with
his parents at the age of three
and attended school there. He
was a member of the United
Church. ▪ He was married in Toronto
in 1928 td the former Lavada
Rising of Seaforth.
Surviving besides his wife are
one son, Robert, of Stouffyille;
two daughters, Mrs. Frank
(Blanche) Shore, Toronto, Mrs.
Hugh (June) Sheridan, Milton; his ,
father, , Ernest Norris, one
brother, Harold Norris, both of
Toronto and 'nine grandchildren.
The body was at the G. A. Whit-
ney funeral home here, where
funeral 'service was held at 2
p.m. Saturday conducted by Rev.
D. Patterson. Burial was In Malt-
landbank Cemetery, the pall-

Mrs. James Woods, 75, of
Seaforth, dteld .liursday in Sea-
forth Commu\lp/ Hospital. While
she had been ailing for two years
death, came following a brief ill-
ness.
Born in Seaforth, she was the
former Mabel Pinkney, daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. John
Pinkney.
She was married to James
Woods of Buffalo and resided
there until her husband's death
in 1952 when she returned to live
here.
She is survived by one bro-
ther, George Pinkney of Seaforth.
She was a member oftt. Tho-
mas' Anglican Church.
The' body was at the G. A.
Whitney Funeral kome, here,
where funeral service conducted
by Rev. S. Sharpies was held at
2 p.m. 'Saturday. Burial was in
Maitlandbank cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Ro-
berton, Robert Archibald, Donald
Wood, Marlen Vincent, Earl
Montgorieery and Gerald Snowden.

CHARLES FRANKLIN NEELY
The sudden death occurred in
London on Sunday, May 17, at his
residence 129 Kent Street, of
Charles Franklin Neely in
his 75th year.
A native of Seaforth, he was
a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
. Simon Neely. k veteran of the
First War he served with the
161st and through the years con-
tinued his assoctatioe with Sea-
forth Branch 156, Royal Canadian
Legion.
A charter member of the local
branch, he had intended being
present at the 40th anniversary
dinner last Saturday night when
he was to have been honored as
a founding member,
He is survived by a niece
and nephew in London as well as
by several cousins in Seaforth.
By his expressed wish, his
body has been donated to the Univ-
ersity of Western Ontario
Medical School.
