' • Warm weather and adequate
soil moisture conditions occurred
through Huron County last week.
The seeding of spring cereals
progressed rapidly and a few
fields of early seeded barley have
emerged. Ploughing, discing, and
spreading fertilizer on corn land
began last week.
Established hay fields and new
seedlings are beginning to show
'signs of growth.
Fall wheat is beginning to
grow vigorously.

The roll was answered by each
giving their favourite colour. A
new member Miss Beverly Cante-
lon, took up the collection, Miss
Sandra Webster dedicated it.
Mrs. Robert Taylor read from
the study book. Mrs. Barry Tay-
lor led in crafts.
Mr. and Mrs. Watson Web-
ster, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reid
and Mr. and Mrs. Fred McCly-
mont attended the banquet at
Woodham last Wednesday evening
which the Orange Lodges of South
Huron sponsored in honour of the
Grand Master of Western On-
tario, David Worden of Listowel.
Misses May and Eleanor Da-
vidson of ' Hamilton called on
friends here last Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Alyin Keys and
faintly of Clinton have moved into
the village.

Reverent J. C. Britton of
Seaforth heard the marriage vows
that joined Lorna Louise Cooper
and David Russell Elliott in
marriage.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Lloyd Mitchell, .R.R. 2,
Brussels and the late Fred Co-
oper and the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Elliott,
Brussels.
The bride wore a white wed-
ding gown created from nylon
and acetate lace over a double
layer of rayon taffeta with a deli-
cate ruffle trim and an A-Line
skirt. The long train was attached
to the Empire waist by a large
satin bow. A jewelled crown held
her tulle illusion veil and she
carried a white Bible crested with
raspberry red roses and white .

Mrs. Paul Harris; sister of
the bride, was matron of honour,
in a gown of raspberry red geor-
gette over taffeta. The gown
featured an A-Line skirt and lace
Empire Waistline. She carried
a basket of white and raspberry
red chrysanthemums.
Lorne Glanville of Walton was
groomsman.
To receive her guests, the
mother of the bride chose a navy
.blue dress with white trim and a
corsage of yellow mums. Assist-
ing, the mother of the groom wore
a lilac dress with white trim and
a lilac tinted corsage of mums.
For travelling following a re-
ception, and dance at Brussels
Legion Hall, the bride • chose. a
green linen ,horseshoe neck
jumper with flap ear collar biquse
of dark navy blue polyester cotton
voile.
On their return from Northern'
Ontario the couple are residing at
R. R.#1, Walton.
Guests in attendance were
from St., Mary's, Whitby, Ethel,
Strathroy, Owen Sound, Seaforth
and Brussels.

patient in. C linton H osp Hal, being
operated on for appendicitis on
Sunday. Her friends wish, her a
speedy recovery.
Mrs. Edna Leeming attended
the funetal in Mitc'hell of her
friend, Mrs. Mary Skinner and
remained for a few days with
her sister, Mrs. William Simp-
son.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Saunders of Royal Oak, Mich.
were week end guests at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Searle.
Mrs. Jean Turner of Bruce-
field and Miss Ann Achilles re-
turned horrie last Thursday from
an air trip'.to' Germany on a 3-,
week holiday.' While there they
visited a few days. with Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Walters and family.'
