The eighth meeting of the
Seaforth 11 44 Prultloops" was held
at the home of Mrs. F. Sills,
After Mrs. Wheatly, the past
Home Economist was introduced
Achievement DO was discussed.
The meeting was turned into
a shower for Miss R, Willems.
Following a few games, an
address was read by Joyce Ha-
ney and the group presented
cid with a mirror on behalf of
all the, club girls.
Mrs. Sills was also presented
with a gift by Debbie Wallace on
behalf of the girls.

Contest
A Grade 11 student at Go-
derich Collegiate Institute won
the United Nations Youth Pil-
grimage Speaking Contest at Cen-
tral Huron Secondary School in
Clinton on Friday night. Cather-
ine Russell, 16; daughter of Rev.
and Mrs. G. G. Russell of Go-
derich took first place, over six
other contestants in-the contest
sponsored by' the 1.0.0.F. and
Rebekah Lodges of Huron County.
Runner-up was Richarci OttaL
• well, 15, of Exeter, a Gr'ade, 10
student at South Huron Secondary
School in Exeter.,
The winner will go on an all-.
expense paid trip in July to New
York to the United Nations. A
highlight of the tour is for the'
group to be allowed to sit in on
the U.N. sessions as this is the
only sponsored group allowed to
0o this. •
° Catherine will be one of the
thousand students from United
States and Canada taking part in
'the 21st annual Oddfellows Pil-
grimage for Youth. •
The judges for the contest
which required each speaker to
give a 7-minute prepared speech
and a 1-minutes impromptu
speech, were: Rev. H. W. Wonfor,
Clinton; Mr. W. H. Knisley,Clin-
ton; add Rev. Glenn. Wright, Exe-
ter.

A large attendance featured
the taster Thank Offering at
Brucefield United Church onSun-
day. The meeting opened 'with
soft music played by Miss Mar-
garet McQueen at the piano.
The Devotion was in charge of,
the President, Mrs. Jim Broad-
foot, Mrs. Mel Graham, Mrs.
Gerald Rathwell, based on
"Easter". The offering was re-
ceived b' Mrs. Bruce Rathwell
and 'Mrs. Cliff Henderton,
Mrs. Judy Seaman sang a very
lovely solo "The Old Rugged
Cross" accompanied by Mrs.
Fred McGregbr. •
Following the, meeting. Dr.
mcintosh , Toronto, showed slides
ci,ca trip he and' Mrs. McIntosh
had taken around the world.
Mrs. W. Haugh introduced the
'guest and Mrs. William Scott
thanked him and presented him
with a gift.
Rev. E. Stuart ronounced
the Benediction a invited all
to remain for a p of tea in the.
school room served by members
of the U.C.W.
Mrs. Bert McKay, London,
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Lorne Wilson.
Miss Taylor, Mitchell, vi-
sited last week with Mrs. Elsie
Forrest. -
Mrs. Donald Broadie is a
patient in Victoria Hospital, LOA-
don.
Dr. and Mrs. John McIntosh,
Toronto, were weekend guests
of Mrs. W. Haugh.
Mr. and Mrs. William Pepper
visited on Saturday with their
son, Mr Bert Pepper and fami-
ly, Newatead. Mr. Pepper- is re-
covering slowly after his accident
several weeks ago. •
