The Seaforth (Legion Spon-
sored) Pee-Wee hockey team tra-
velled to Goderich on Saturday
morning to compete ih the Gar
derich LiOns 21st Annual Pee-
Wee hockey tournamentand came
out on .top in their first game
loy completely outplaying and,out-
scoring their opponents from
Harr on by a score of 18-1.
Barry Lane led the attack'by
firing five goals, Kevin Bennett
and Bill O'Shea added two apiece;
with single goals being scored
by Brian Dietz, Danny',,N,Olan,
'Gordie Carnochan and Brian Vin-
cent.
Lose to Mitchell
' Saturday night the. Pee-Wees
.played host to Mitchell and-came
out on the short ,„end of a 4-2
game, thus eliMinating them from
further pray in the tournament.
Mitchelrall season had been
the toughest' opposition for- the
locals as they eliminated the,
boys in two games in the Minor.
Hockey play-offs (both by close
scores).
The teams were tied up at
I after the first period. Scoring
for Seaforth was Barry Lane
and Bill O'Shea.

Kincardine Bulldogs scored
three overtime goals .on Tues-
day, nigtit in Seaforth to remain
alive in their best-of-seven fi-
lial. Seaforth leads the series
three games to one.
-"' Seaforth g-dt off to a fast
start .as Bob Beuttenmiller scor-
ed to make 1-0 at the 24 second
mark. Kincardine tied the game
seven minutes later on a goal
by Wilson, who counted five times
for the Bulldogs. The locals made
it 2-1 at the 8;51 mark as work-
horse Bill McLaughlin scored
his first of three goals. Kincar-
dine cicept the pressure 'on rnn ..
the latter stages of the first,
and only the good goaltending
of Gar Baker in -the Seaforth
nets kept the score from being
higher.
In the second period the Bea- -
vers came out strong and com-
pletely dominated the play':Mc-
L,aughlin counted the only two
goals of the period to give the
Beavers a 4-2 lead going into
the third period.

The Greens have taken a 1-0
lead in the Industrial Hockey
League finals, as a result of
Sunday night's 5-4 edging aver
the Blues. (Best 2 out of 3).
The Blues opened the scoring
at the midway mark of the first
period on A goal by Larry Scott.
Bill Pinder upped it -to 2-0
five. minutes later, to make the
scare. at the end of the first
period read 2-0 in favor of the
Blues.
In the ,second period the
Greens got on the score sheet
at the four-twenty mark when
Don Jefferson "jammed the puck
past. Gary Osborne in the Blues'
, net. About forty seconds later
Greens' Captain, Ken McLlwain,
tied up the game with an un-
assisted ,backhvder.
On Saturday, the Novice team
went to • Durham to play in , a
' tournament and met Port Elgin
in tbe first game.
Seaforth outplayed and out-
shot their opponents, but were
',unable to beat their goaltender •
who was at his best. Jim Case
and Larry Dalton 'scored :for
The third period saw Jimmy
Carter put the. Blues ahead 3-2
only to have thertGieens come
roaring back with goals by ve-
teran Jimmy Watson, Bill Bo-
shart and Ray Powell, to make
the score 5-3. The Blues fought
hard the rest of the way and
showed no signs of defeat as
Bill Pinder found thg range for
his second goal of the night.
They yanked Osborne for a sixth
attack, but failed to beat the
netmindingeerry Cooper. The
Blues outs ot the Greens by a
total of 50-30.

gave a good account of them-
selves under the, excellent coa-
ching and managing of Charles
Geddes and Joe Murphy,
Seaforth students took on Seaforth teachers in floor
hockey at S.D.H.S. Friday afternoon and proved they had
all the answers. They won the game 5-0. Here Paul Patrick

With Spring officially hekre and sprieg, weather fast '
approaching, snowmobilers are-finding it hard to pick their way
through the fields and still stay on the snow. The problem being
that the snow is going away faster than the desire to snowmobile.
The' Seaforth Snowmobile Club is. again planning it's Spring
Wind-up, pot luck supper and dance this week end, Saturday,
March 28. The supper will start at 7130 'til 9;00 with dancing
to follow. Everyone is wet -come to come and have a good time. -
The club members would be well advised to pick up their tickets
now as they are going real fast and nobody would want to miss
that fabulous meal if it is anything'ilke the Fall get-together.
Don't forget to put your name on the dish that you bring. The
club supplies silverware and plates and Royce Reihis Band to
dance to all for S2.50 per couple.

and Kincardine finally scored on
the power-play to come `within
one goal of the Beaver's. Both
teams tried desperately to score
but Baker for Seaforth and Kel-
lestine were at their best in
the nets. With a minute and a
half showing on the clock, Wil-
son of Kincardine came roaring
down the left,, side and let a
sizzling drive go which trickled
in on the short-side after Baker
had made the initial save. That
tied the game at 4-4. Both teams
applied pressure in the remaining
minute and a half, but failed to
score. In the overtime period
Kincardine scored three quick
goals in about' eight minutes to
make the final score read Kin-
cardine 7, Seaforth
