The Parish Council met it
the Rectory Thursday when the
main items discussed were the
Folk Mass which was held at
1:30 on Sunday and the 'new me-
rthod of receiving the host at
Communion time. This new me-
thod, is an, optional one in which
one can receive the host direct-
13'+' from the priest's hand into
your mouth , or have it placed
•in your hand and then 'the in-
dividual will place it into his
own mouth. Both these methods
will be carried out in a standing
position.
s The Folk Mass on Sunday
was attended by approximately
45 teenagers and a large. number
of adults. Father Durand read the
Mass and Michael Rowland and
,Donald Melady were altar boys.

ing a weekly work out night con-
sisting of a programme of exere,
cise, diet discussion and a gal

Miss. Mary C. Dalrymple, 56
Mercer St., Stratford, formerly
of Cromarty, died Saturday at
Spruce Lodge, Stratford. She was
a, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Dalrymple and was
born in Tuckersinith Township'
85 years "ago. She is survived
by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted
from the Heath Leslie Funeral
Home, Mitchell, on Monday, with
temporary entombment in Wood-
land Cemetery Chapel.
Several friends from this
community were in attendance
at the funeral service.

Reeve Westcott pointed lout
that financing will be' one of the
foremost problems in 1930 with
the announced requirements of
quarterly payments towards edu-
cation requisitions and the pose
sibility that the County might
'also insist on interim payments.
He indicated the municipality
should °consider an interim tax
billing plan. He outlined his pros-
pects of becoming Warden of the
County in 1970. Councillor's and
officials voiced their support of
the Reeve In his plans for 1970
and his bid for the wardenship.
Reeve Westcott said the
County proposed to have repre-
sentatives from IBM attend
during the January session and
to call in all local clerks and
treasurers to discuss tax bil-
ling through the IBM system as
outlined to the clerks and trea-
surers at their November county
meeting. Council discussed in-
terim tax. billing, but postponed
any decision until after the county
meeting.
Mrs. B. M. Woods,, tax col,
lector, told council 1969 tax a..t;
, rears at December 31st totalled
$12,006.99 or 4.23%.
The Treasurer reported that
the 17t9 bank loans were re ,
duced $147.000 and expected
receipts pertaining to 1969 busi-
ness are $149,890.
Road accounts; $2,428.47 and ge-
neral accounts of $1,110.87 were
approved. '
Freeman Horne presented a
petition to Council from a.num-
ber of residents in Winchelsea
complaining about pollution in
the area of the hamlet. The pe-
tition was filed Rending further
, investigation. ••
Tax arrears for 1967 and
1968 were reported by the Au-
ditor at $13,269.71.

pf -the Canadiar Red' Cross Soci-
ety forwarded 'a quantitY of hand
knit socks, which' members had
'completed, to Westminster Hos-
pital, Lopdon.
That the socks were appre-
ciated is indicated by a letter
received by the branch Presi-
dent, from Agnes E'. Lizmore,
Co-ordinator Volunteer Services
in which she says: -

dous' contribution you made to
the comfort .of our patients re-
cently. The beautifully 'knit sox
reminded us of the issue we ,re-
ceived from „the Red C roes,over-
