Brice County Board of Educa-

To us., the plight of the Bruce
Board is amusing. In the years that
the Bruce Board has been in
operatiOn, it has always managed
to top hourly rates of most small
businesses in Bruce County. _No
• problem really when paiblic money
was convening with private money.
Pablie money is obtained by the
adjustment of the tax rate, Private

REMEMBRANCE DAY
MARKED SUNDAY
Remembrance Day was mark-
ed in' this community or, Sunday
with a service at the Cenotaph and
attendance at the regular Sunday
morning service of Lacknow United
Church by VelterartS and local
groups.
The question • has been up for
discussion as to the merits of the
Sunday obServatrice as opposed to
the observance (on the actual day,
November I I th,
Sunday's experience would indi-
eate that the true inearaing of
remembrance would be almost likely
observed by the most people by
holdinf it at a Sunday regular
church' service,
November 1 Ith services at (the
Cenotaph and at the worship
Ser.v(ice on that day have never been
largely attended. arid in recent
years the attendance has &vim- died.
It is hard to be critical of a

Bicycle Bylaw
Gough Street,
Lucknow, Ontario,
Friday, Nov. 8th.
Dear Don
It wasn't until 1 read the report of
the Ratepayers Meeting in the
"Sentinel" that 1 kneW that
Councillor Solomon had suggested„
if I had any "specific complaint",
in the future to direct it to the
Bylaw Office giving details of the
9ftence, and the name of the party
involved.
Over the years, 'the Sentinel has
printed Notices from the Village
Council, "that it was unlawful to
ride a bike on the sidewalk and that
offenders would be prosecuted".
At no time have I heard of any
prosecution, „ yet it is quite com-
mon, especially right on Main
Street, to see this going on, It is a
wonder that no elderly person has
ever been knocked down and
injured as they came out of the
stoles, '
Quite a few of the. Village
Councillors are often on Main
Stteet, and possibly have seen
these cyclists, yet no charges have
ever been laid,
Probably there are quite a few
hke myself in town, who would
have no idea of the names of the
• persons on the bicycles, eso no
• knew -Ate of where the Town
• By-law Office was situated, if there
as a By-law Officer, or who would
be in charge • to receive the
complaint, •Perhaps in a 'future
SentinelaiJ this could be printed.,
so as the Geraer: Pablic would
haw this infonanattion.
Thanking you„

Request For
Hockey Meeting
WEDNESDAY. NOYEItlo
BM Hunter,ehairman of the
Lucknow Recreation Committee,
advised the•Sentinel Monday that,
in response to some stiggestions by
area residents, •a meeting concern-
ing hockey in the community would
be called for next year, but that it
would be too late to do anyting this
year.
It was two years.agethat a public
meeting was held concerning com-
munity hockey. A meeting was not
held last year nor this Fall,
Mr, Hunter said 'that the hockey
program in the community appear-
ed to be operating very satisfactor-
ily and that the (committee did not
see the necessity' for a public
meeting this year and last..
• He stated that with the hockey
program put together so early in
the Fall„ it would be necessary to
call a meeting in late August or
early September and he questioned
the putblk response that would be
generated at this time (of year,
Bill said that the Recreation
Committee meets the second Tues-
day of each month at 7 p.m. and
that anyone is welcome to attend
these meetings to present any
problems or suggestions to the
coommittee.. • '••
• In addition to this, and because
(of the .request this year„ a public
meeting will definitely be held in
late summer of 1975 to deal With
• next year's hockey program.
