The death of Miss Gertrude Macintosh occurred on Friday; October 25th in her 80th year. She was one of nine daughters of the late Peter and • Effie Macintosh of the 4th concession of Kinloss Township. Miss Macintosh. was a graduate of the Grace Hospital. Toronto. now the Toronto Western. After graduating *she went to the U.S.A. working in an administrative capac- ity in hospitals in Cleveland and Michigan and later .for seventeen years at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. On retirement she resided in Port Huron continuing in private nursing. • In 1972 she returned to Canada locating in Toronto and in the last year, in failing health, resided at the Preston Springs Gardens, Cambridge, Ontario. Miss Macintosh is survived by five sisters Mrs. Harry (Eunice) Torrance of North Bay; Mrs,. Thos. (Beatrice) Reeve of Pinecrest Man- or, Lucknow; Mrs. Torrance (Haz- el) Anderson of Lucknow; Mrs. James (Irene) Godbold of Shel- bourne; Mrs. A. L. (Ruth)` Brown of Vancouver. She was predeceased by three sisters Mrs. Walter (Nina) Row - and, Mrs.. Hugh (Donalda) Mac- Millan, Miss Grace Macintosh. The funeral service was held at MacKenzie Memorial Chapel, Lucknow; on Sunday, October27 at 1.30 p.m. Rev. Glenn Noble was minister. Pallbearers were James God- bold, Bill Brown, Lawrence Cowan, Sandy MacMillan,. Earl Brooks, Harvey MacDougall. Interment was at South Kinloss Cemetery. ZION Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter and family had Mr. and Mrs. Orland Irwin and family of East Wawanosh visit them Saturday evening. Mr: and Mrs, Jim Smith and Billy of Molesworth visited with her brother. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ritchie and family on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Gibson' visited on Sunday at the University Hospital in London with her father. Al Irwin of Lucknow and also at the home of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith and family of Lon- don. FRACTURED ARM Ken Ritchie has a cast on his left arm, which he fractured while playing soccer .Friday of last week at Brookside Public School. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ritchie and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Menary of Lanes attended Sunday night serv- ice at Wingham United Church Anniversary. • Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter, Raymond, Jeffrey and Nancy visit- ed Sunday with his mother,. Mrs. Jake Hunter in University Ipital at London. Mrs. Hunter's health is much the same. Rev, and Mrs. James Hummel of Hickson came to Lucknow on Friday on business and visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilkins and family. KINLOUGH Dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nicholson and Lois on Tues- day evening were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Worrman of Humbolt and Mrs. Freda Haldenby of Melfort, Saskatchewan, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thompson of Chesley and Mrs. Marjorie Nicholson and Carolyn. Rev. Archibald of Tara conduct-' ed the Anniversary Service in the Presbyterian Church ' on Sunday morning. Mrs. Bill MacPherson was organist and.the choir provided special music. The Kinloss Pioneer girls will have charge of the service next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burt spent the week end in Toronto.
