Mark 66th Wedding Anniversary
On Suiiday At Huronview Clinton

Friends and relatives called on
Mr. and Mrs. Ross McNee at
Huronview to share in celebrating
their 66th wedding anniversary: and
Mr. McNee's 91st birthday. Tea
and cake were served in the
auditorium under the .direction of
Mrs." Graham McNee, assisted by
friends and granddaughters of the
bride and groom. Mrs. Agnes
Foster, sister of Mrs. Ross . McNee,
presided at' the tea table. Many
cards and expressions of good
wishes were received by the happy
couple.
Boni to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Kerr in Alexandra Hospital, Goder-
ich on October 15, a son, Kevin
Wayne, 'a brother for Brian and
Brenda. Congratulations.
Mrs. Paul Henderson, Jennifer
and Jill of Mississauga visited her
father Harvey Alton, last week end.
Her aunt, Mrs. Victor Errington,
returned with Eleanor, intending to
visit with her daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Ivan Henderson and family of
Weston.

Lucknow water users should note
that the village works department
will be flushing fire hydrants in the
village all day Tuesday, November
Sth from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use of
water for washing clothes could
present rust problems at this time.

Nineteen new Canadians receiv-
ed Canadian citizenship papers at a
special ceremony at Walkerton
presided over Judge P. S.
MacKenzie. Those from this area
included Mr. Wytze Wiersma R.

lands; Mrs. Sytske Wiersma, R. R.

THAT
Doug Allen of Bridgewater, Nova
Scotia, in writing to his grandmoth-
er Mrs. Wm. Webster of Lucknow,
commented that he was pleased to
see in the Sentinel that the.
Lucknow Kinsmen Club was rais-
ing funds for research in the fight
against Cystic Fibrosis. Doug's
young son Todd is afflicted with
this disease.
THAT
The local campaign on behalf of
the Canadian National Institute for
the Blind, conducted by senior
students at Lucknow Central Public
School, raised $579.70. Last years
total was $493.
THAT
The Lucknow United Church
Women served about 550 people at.
their hot turkey supper last Tues-
day evening.
THAT
Lucknow , Fire Department an-
swered a call to the farm of Albert.
Kaastra on Highway 86, about 2 Vi
miles west of Lucknow, on Satur-
day afternoon at 5 p.m. A fire was
burning in the bush to the north of.
the property and took a couple of
hours work by the fire department
to extinguish it. The farm is known
to many as the former Orland.

Elect Officers
The regular meeting of Town and
Country Club 'was held Tuesday
evening, October 22nd.
Mrs. Wilfred Drennan gave a
report of the Regional meeting held
in Kincardine earlier. Our Club
will entertain Kincardine Club on
November 5th.

took place with. the resulting slate

10 YEARS AGO
OCTOBER 1964
A partnership became official
between Dr. Peter Bissonnette of
Ripley and Dr. Brock ;Cleland of
Peace River, Alberta, to practice
under the name Ripley-Lucknow
Veterinary Services.
Keen interest was being shown
throughout Western Ontario and
otherparts of Canada in the Simon
Frere Continuous Butter -making
Machine which had been recently
installed at the Silverwood Dairies
plant in Lucknow. A dairy
representative of Calgary was a
visitor for observation purposes
and 115 members of the Western
.Ontario Buttermakers' Association
and their friends were guests of
Silverwoods to make observations
on operations. Another visitor was
the Agricultural Attachem of the
Netherland's Embassy. This
machine, which was the first to be
installed in Canada and the second
in North America was capable of
converting 4500 pounds of cream
into butter per hour.
