1 SRI 41* a;�srt THE LUCKNOW SENTINEL, LUCKNOW, ONTARIO NOMINATIONS Notice' is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the TOWNSHIP OF HURON in the County of Bruce that in compliance with The Municipal Elections Act, 1972, chapter 95, the period for nominations in the said TOWNSHIP OF HURON is the period from THE 7th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1974 UNTIL THE 12th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1974 at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of nominating fit and properpersons for the offices of REEVE, DEPUTY REEVE, 3 COUNCILLORS and A REPRESENTATIVE ON THE BRUCE E COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION to repre- sent the Township of Huron and the Village of Ripley. Mrs. Percy had accompan- ied the Stanleys to Hanover where they visited with their sister . Mrs. Albert (Mary) Trafford. Mrs. Charlie Hodgins and Miss Norma Coutts of Wingham visited on Wednesday with Edna and May Boyle. The Presbyterian anniversary service will be held next Sunday morning. There will be no service in the Anglican Church. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Whiteside and son Brian of Toronto were week end visitors with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Art Haldenby. Rev. George Garratt will return to his pastoral duties here on Sunday, November 10th at 10.30 a.m. During his vacation Rev. 11. L. Jennings of Wroxeter was in charge. The Holyrood Women's Institute will meet in the Hall on Thursday, November 7th. Mrs. Donald Blue of Ripley will be the guest of the afternoon speaking= on the Bruce County Tartan. Neighbouring Institutes and friends are invited to attend. Plans are also underway for the annual Remembrance Day Service on November 11th when pastor Van Slightenhorst will be the speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Johnston, concession 8, were Sunday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott. Rev. H. L. Jennings of Wroxeter visited on Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Chris Shelton. Mrs. Jennings was unable to accompany Mr. Jennings owing to the illness of her mother, Mrs. P. Lawrence, who is a patient in the Wingham and District Hospital. Wayne Percy of Kitchener spent the week end at his home here. Mrs. Glen Campbell and Mrs. Mabel Hewitt of Kincardine spent a day Iast week with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nicholson and Lois. WEDNESDAY, dEt; Dews And Views from Huronview The South Huron Christian women's club held a Song Service in the Chapel on Sunday evening. Mr.'and fifes: Luther of Hensail led the singing and devotions with Thanksgiving poems by Mrs. Pearl Erratt. The Lakelet Women's institute were hosts on Wednesday after- noon for the • October Birthday Party. Mrs. Lyle Murray was emcee for the afternoon and introduced the variety program. Mrs. Helen Reidt provided the piano accompaniment for the musical numbers which included a rhythm band with kitchen utensils, guitar and vocal solos . Evelyn Harrison; electric steel guitar Marlene Heinbecker; vocal solos by 4 year old Neil Murray and a sing songd by Mrs. Murray. Included in' the program were readings by Eva ©Ferguson and three skits by members of the Institute. Follow- ing the singing of "Happy Birth- day" gifts were presented to the 29 celebrants. Tea and birthday cake were served to 150 residents and guests. Mrs. Irwin, one of the celebrants and a personal friend of several of the Institute members, expressed the appreciation of the residents. Earl and Martha Heywood, of Wingham, who are well known to manv of the residents, entertained on ""Family Night"'. The Hey - woods sang several of the songs they have recorded and although there wasn'A sufficient time for Earl to demonstrate his magic, they hope to visit us again in the near future. Mrs. Lamb, formerly of Wingham, thanked the entertain- ers on behalf of the residents.
