Wayne Armstrong, R. R. 4 Kincardine, brotherof, the groom, was best man. The ushers were Ian MacDonald, Dale Armstrong, Brent Armstrong, and David COI - ling who all wore brown tuxedos with corn silk ruffle shirts. The , bride's mother chose a floor -length candy pink dress with a pink and white rose cordage. The' groom's mother chose a brown floor -length gown with a corsage of yellow roses: A reception followed the wed- ding at the Ripley District High School. Prior. to Mary's wedding the community had .a shower for her at Knox Presbyterian Church, Ripley. Other showers were held at the Kinloss Township Council Minutes Kinloss Council met in regular session on the October 3rd, the reeve and all Council present. The minutes of the September 3rd and 23rd were adopted as read. The clerk was instructed to notify the land owner on the open portion of the Pennell drain to remove the dam;. A request was made to the Department of Transportation and Communications to do a traffic control study for Stop and ' Yield signs 'in Kinloss Township. The report on the Moffat -Thomp- son Imp, drain was discussed and the engineer was to look at problems on Lot 28. Conc. '8 to see if an alternate route could be taken on one branch. Reservation for the Good Roads Convention will be made at. Royal York Hotel to be held in February 1975.. An application for supplement- ary for 53000.00subsidy payable was made to the M.T.C. to cover municipal drainage expenditures. The road superintendent was to order 4 new grader, tires. Happy Hearts Meet At Ripley The Ripley Happy Hearts Club entertained the Kincardine Merry Kin Club for their October meeting in Ripley Central School. Mrs. Sophia Pollock was hostess for the evening. A program had been arranged by Mrs. Gladys Huston. Mrs. John A. MacDonaldand Mrs. Frances Elliott. Mrs. Homer Devitt showed very fine pictures of a trip, to Western Canada and Northern United States this summer which included the Calgary Stampede, Edmonton Klondike Days and the World's Fair at Seattle. Her interesting commentary made everyone feel they were also on the trip. Singing was led by Reg Moore accompanied by Mrs. Roy MacKenzie. Readings were given by Mrs. Don McCosh and Mrs. Jack McLean. Mr.. and Mrs. George McDonald and Murray made ` everyone's toes° start tap- ping. Bill Arnold completed the musical portion with selections on the mouthorgan. The chairman, Mrs. Win. Arnold, presided. A short business meeting was held. Everyone was thankedfor their contribution to the Float and. Display at Ripley . Fair and to those who made such an attractive Banner which was on display at the meeting and will be used often. Frank Scott reported they had sold 19 copies of Rev. Duncan MacTav- ish's book at the Fair. Mrs. Annie Scott reported a most enjoyable bus trip to Bracebridge on October 3rd. It had been a cool but sunny day and the trees were lovely. Only 3 members were free to attend the Zone Rally in Kincardine on October, 9th, ' because it was Bowling Day and . Ripley has 6 teams this year. Mrs. Donald Blue reported that members , of the Happy Hearts Club had completed their Arthritis Campaign on sched- ule and realized $313.10 in addition .to $90 allotted to this area in last May's Telethon. The lunch committee under the convenership of Mrs. Lloyd. Arnold served a delicious lunch and everyone had a pleasant time chatting land meeting new friends.
