LETTER TO THE EDITOR
States Butter Better
For Arteries
Dear Don,
1 am writing this in the interest of
aU those people eating margarine
with the belief that it is helping
them fight heart disease.
Now researchers tell us that, in
processing the margarine, it con-
verts the polyunsaturated fat cells
to a form that, once in the blood
stream, residts in higher blood
cholesterol level and increased
incidence of Atherosclerotic plaqu-
es. This atherosclerosis is respon-
sible for 90 per cent of all heart
disease.
Some margarines contain as
much as 36 per cent of this
converted form, whereas butter
contains only 2 to 6 per cent. Do we
get the message? Butter is better
for our arteries than margarine.

lighted homes. Adults who are
intolerant of children are usually
known throughout the ' neighbour-
hood; avoid them.
10. Call on one side of the street
and then the other. Don't
criss-cross the street.
By adhering to these guidelines,
Halloween can be a highlight on
your children's recreational calen-
dar and a safe one at that.

Pro Life Booth
At Teeswater Fair
There was a successful Pro Life
Information booth at the Teeswater
Fall Fair due to the combined
efforts of the Goderich. Walkerton
and Wingham Pro Life Groups. A
concentrated! effort is being made
by groups tocomplete the "One_
Million Name Petition" before the
deadline of October 30. The main
interests drawing people to the
booth were to sign this petition and
' to view the aborted baby of from .12
to 14 Weeks of conception. The
concern of the public was evident
by the consistent flow of people
who waited 'in lineup's for questions
to be answeired. Approximately
400 names were added to the
petition 'at the Teeswateir Fall Fair
but more' signatures are needed.
Doctors. Nurses. Students and
Lay People gave freely of their time
and in the busier periods 10
11 volunteers were extremely 'busy
giving out hundreds of information
kits and answering questirns.
