last week. .Completed at a total

Township Reeve Robert Lyons
acted as chairman for the brief
ceremonies which preceded the
ribbon cutting ceremony.
Mr. Lyons extended a welcome
to all township residents present
and to the numerous invited
guests. • He indicated that the
contract price for the building .was
• SS9,000 and that the completed
price., with all extras. was abut
$70,000. The final payment on the
building • was made at the last
meeting. of council.
The Reeve introduced his coun-
cil. Leo Foran, 3. D. Durnin, Joe
Hickey and John Rutherford; clerk
Mrs. Thomas (Joan) Armstrong;
treasurer Clarence Greer; Road
Superintendent Harvey Culbert;
grader operator George Humphrey
and part time employee, Mel
Lyons.

present from adjacent municipalit-
ies, •Reeve of East Wawanosh;
Councillor Barry Johnston of Kin-
loss; representative from Hullett
Township; Colborne Township;
Road Supt. Dave Moore of Huron
Township; Reeve Girvin Reed of
Ashfield Township; Chairman of
the Huron County road committee.
Joe Dietrich of which Reeve Lyons
is a member; John Ref of
Goderich. contractor; Ken Dunn,
engineer. representing the firm of
Burns Ross of Goderich and
Murray Gaunt. M.P.P. for Huron -
Bruce who officially cut the ribbon.
Mr. Gaunt said that the Ministry of
Transportation and Communication
will pay a 60% grant on the new
building. representing about $42.-
000. .
WEDNESDAY,
• Speaking for the township and
road departmentroad superin-
tendent Harvey Culbert stated that
he was proud of the new structure
and the facilities which it offered
the township. He said when he
commenced the duties •of road
superintendent ten years ago, the
budget was 523.000 and that it had
grown to 5115.000 this year. •
He acknowledged donations
from suppliers and associates
towards the evening.

Bruce Board Reach
Salary Agreement
A 1974-75 contract that will give
elementary school teachers of the
Bruce Board of Education an
average increase of 13 Ya per cent .
was ratified by the board.
Settlement has • not vet been
reached with secondary school
teachers. •
' New salaries range from mini-
mums and maximums of Sb.200
and 59.000 for category 1 teachers
to 59,900 and 519.000 for Category
7, The comparative figures for the
last term were 55,700 and 58,000
for Category 1 and 59,100 and
S17.100 for category 7.
Fringe ,benefit increases include
board payment of 75 per cent of
Ontario Hospital Insurance prem-
iums and extended health benefits.
The :board previously paid two-
thirds.
The board was told that the high
:school under "construction, at Port
Elgin will be ready next term.
Last month, the board's S1.02,1,-
625 expenditures resulted in a
5207.625 surplus. Surplus to date
this year is 5794.293.
