engineer informs me that the power
required is considerably less than when
the engine is stationary in the engine

less gearing requires to be used with e

it at the barn here on the afternoon of

It is a noticeable ,face that of the
present campaign in Ontario that in
constituencies where the Equal Rights
movement is supposed to have made
some progress, and where a candidate
runeing as a 'straight Conservative
would have no chance of election, the
plan is to pot np scene man of reliable
Conservative antecedents as an Equal
Rights nominee and'quietly accepthitn
as the candidate of the Conservative
party. John Carnegie, a stiff necked
Tory of the old Bourbon school, is in
this way standing as an Equal Rights
Mate in West Petereorough, and Alex,
paw, another hardshell Tory, is
standing in Centre Bruce. Thal is
part of the organized plan of Mr.
Meredith mad his political friends, as
is clearly proved by a circular letter
recently sent out to prominent electors
in the Province by Secretary Boswell,
of Toronto, with the view of entrapp-
ing, them. 'Here is. an extract from
the precious circular :
