Married Friday At
Belmare Church

Knox Presbyterian Church, Bel -
more was the setting of a &ndle-
light ceremony with floral arrange-
ments of asters and evergreens, for
the marriage of Helen Elizabeth
(Beth) Mundell, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Mundell, of R. R. 2
Wingham, and Cecil Scott Payne,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Payne
of Molesworth.
The double ring ceremony, held
on Friday, October 4th at 8.00
p.m., was performed by the bride's
uncle the Reverend W. A. Hender-
son of Woodstock. • Mrs. Don'alda
Scott of Lucknow presided at the
organ. Peggy Brisbin of London
and Clara Henderson of Downs-
view sang a duet "The Wedding
Song" providing their 'own guitar
accompaniment.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride was • lovely in • her
mother's wedding gown of tradi-
tional ivory satin featuring a fitted
bodice, lily pointed sleeves and
cathedral train. Her full length veil
was caught by. •a band of sweet
heart roses,. She carried a bouquet
of red sweetheart roses.
Attendants were Gail Grant and
Jane Netzke of Teeswater, friends
of the bride. They, wore identical
gowns of polyester jersey with pink
and white floral design on a
burgandy baSknound. • The gowns
featured rounded necklines,, long
full sleeves and high waistlines.
They carried nosegays of shasta
daisies and pink carnations.
John McKercher, • Jamestown,
friend of the groom, was best man.
Ushers were Angus MacDonald of
Port Elgin, cousin of the bride and
Robert MacLean of Jamestown,
friend of the groom.
• Following the ceremony a dinner
was held in the Sunday School
room, Knox Presbyterian Church,
Belmore with Rev. R. D. MacDon-
ald of Port Elgin as master of
ceremonies. Rev". John Henderson
of Harriston asked the blessing.
The bride's mother received
wearing a floor length, dark green
flowered chiffon dress. She wore a
corsage of yellow shasta daisies.
She was assisted by the groom's
mother, who wore a full length

TENNIS
Following six days of Tennis
Lessons on the courts in Kincard-
ine, we had our final day set up as a
class tournament. Ken Stewart
and Kevin Cook defeated Mike
Gallant and Larry Carter to win the
doubles championship.
GOLF
After •practising on the school
• yard for two days the grade elevens
•'journeyed to Ainsdale Golf Course
for half a day, where they all
managed to complete nine holes.
STRATFORD
• Last Tuesday the grade elevens
and twelves piled on a bus with the
dusty pink crepe dress with a
corsage of white shasta daisies.
• For travelling to Northern Ont-
ario, the bride chose a rose and
burgandy polyester pantsuit with
navy accessories._ She wore a
corsage of white shasta daisies.
Mrs. Cecil Payne of Bluevale,
grandmother of the groom, and
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Smith, Lucknow,
grandparents of the bride, were
honoured guests.
• Out of town guests were from
Pickering, Hamilton, London,
Woodstock, Stratford and Port
Elgin. • ,
The newlyweds will. reside near
Gorrie where the bride is employed
as a secretary at Howick Central
School and the groom is _employed
as a draftsman at Farmatic, Gorrie.
• Kincardine French classes and
started out for Stratford. The title
of the play was the Imaginary
Invalid and everyone enjoyed the
performance. '
MUSIC
Practices have started again for
Commencement. Directors for this
year are Gail Messenger and Kim
Farrell. The commencement is
going to be held on October 25 in
the High School.

The Ripley Volleyball tearnS. last
week played the teams from Bruce
Peninsula in Lions Head and
Wi'arton. Our teams did very well.
Against Bruce Pen. the two 'girls
teams won, and against Wiarton
the two girls teanis and junior boys
teams won.
