well as farming, Mr. Cameron for
many years was engaged as an
insurance agent.
They have a family of one son,
Ralph, of Lucknow and a daughter
Mrs. Mason (Jean) Robinson of
Wingham. Another son Glen of
Powasson, died in 1952.
Mr. and Mrs. Cameron have 14
grandchildren and 25 great grand-
children.

Ken Quinn of Ripley was the
winner of $200. in the Lucknow
Kinsmen Club draw on the Canada -
Russia Hockey Series. The win-
ning goal of the final game was
scored at 6..59 of the third period
giving Ken the win.
Other $25 winners, for having a
goal scored on their time during the
final game, were Tom Philips.,
Mrs. Alice Clark, both of Lucknow;
Jack Clark of Lambeth. The fourth
$25 was split between Harvey•Irwin
'and Mary. Nicholson, both of the
Lucknow area. •

Accept Tender For New Area Community
Health Centre In Lucknow
A new community health centre,
to serve Lucknow, Ashfield, West
Wawanpsh and Kinloss, moved a
giant step closer to reality on
Saturday night of last week when
the four Municipalities met jointly
min Lucknow and unanimously ap
proved the acceptance of the tender
Of Genan Construction of WMerloo
to build the facility at their
tenderedprice of $106,282.
Tenders received last Fall by the
committee had come in at close to
$150,000 with one firm resubmit-
ting their tender in early January at
over $160,000. With the tenders
fatabove estimate at that time, the
project hung in jeopardy for several
• months.
In mid summer, the four councils
met jointly in Lucknow and upon
advice received from the architect
by Reeve George W. Joynt of Luck -
now decided to again tender on the
project. At that time, Mr. Joynt
•said that the architect felt that with
slight modification in the type of
construction, the total cost of the
facility should come in at about
$130,000. •
At that meeting; the rural muni-
cipalities agreed to accept 20%of
the net cost each if the tender price
•was, satisfactory. A motion was
made to ffiis effect. Lucknow was
to assume the remaining 40%of the
net cost. •
Saturday's meeting produced a
• favourable tender and on a motion
by Leo Murray, Reeve of Kinloss,
seconded by Robert Lyons, Reeve
of West Wawanosh, the tender of
Genan Construction was.,„accepted
• at $106,282 plus estimated extras
to complete the job. The estimated
extras were $21,500.
These extras as estimated by the
architect, include, paving, septic
tank and tile bed, seedim, and
. grading, $6000; dentist room, not

• James Beaton of Lucknow died at
Wingham and District Hospital ,on
Tuesday of this week. He was 92
years of age.
The funeral will be held Thurs-
day, October 8th at 2 p.m. from the
MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow with burial at Lochalsh
Cemetery. .

Club, numbering
about 25, walked the twelve miles
from Lucknow to Wingham along
Highway 86. Gary Ritchie raised
about $200, being the top member
of Lucknow club.
Zone "lit clubs walking from
Lucknow to Wingharn included
Lucknow, Wingham, Hensall and
Exeter. Four other clubs from the
Zone walked from'Gorrie to Wing -
ham. These were Drayton, Shel-
bourne, Mount Forest and Harris -
ton.
$4500 was raised by Zone B and
approximately $61,000 was raised
in District 1. comprising clubs in
southern Ontario. .This is $25,000
more than the goal set by the Kin of
District I.. The money raised goes
to the Cystic Fibrosis Research
Centre at the Hospital for Sick
Children, Toronto. The centre was
originally built by the Kinsmen.

by government under the winter
capital projects grant. From

of labour to be completed before
December 1st has to be presented -
to government; as well as labour on
the remaining portion • of the
construction . An estimate is that
45% of the total tender would be
labour and it is on this portion that
grants would apply.
Three other tenders received for
the project, in -addition to the low
one submitted by Genan and
accepted, were: Watcon Inc., Wat-
erloo, $119,540; Hudel Construc-
tion, Kitchener, $124,496; Logan
Contracting, Stratford, $133.605.

Mrs. Lyman Sutton of Teesvvat-
er, formerly of Kinlough; is the
lucky winner of a new 1974 Vega
Hatchback car.
She purchased the ticket on the
draw at the Highland Games in
July in Teesvvater from the Preston
Rotary Club. , Proceeds are for the
Crippled Children Fund.
But Mrs. Sutton has a minor
"problem". She doesn't have a
driver's permit as she doesn't, drive
a car, and has not yet decided just
what she'll do with her first prize
award.
