At the Monciay meeting of the
Lucknow C.G.I.T., Dorothy Clarke
was chosen as the new president
and Barbara Loree is. vice-presid-
ent. The secretary is Nancy
Warren and treasurer is Patti -Lou
Irwin.
The girls paid their registration"
fees and had a game called
"Numbers Change". After sing-
song the C.G.11.T: purpose was said
and the C.G.1.T. hymn was sung.
The group will again sponsor the
U.N.I.C.E.F. collection, at Hallow-
e'en :time. The pupils at Lucknow
/ Central Public School have a big
part in, this collection.
On Saturday, October 19 .the
C.G.I.T. will hold ,a Bake Sale and
Rummage, - White Elephant, Sale in
the Noble Johnston store front from
10 a.m. til 4 p.m.
The group of new members is
studying the C.G.1.T. purpose and .
the proper wearing of the. middy.
The other groups began a study
from the.Eold-out called "Right or
Wrong". The meeting closed with
Taps.

Chalmers. Women's Missionary
Society held their September
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Dawson Craig.
The call to worship was given by
Mrs. Victor Emerson acting pres-
ident for. Mrs. Bill Rintoul: All
sang .Unto' the Hills with . Mrs.
Andrew Gaunt pianist..
The scripture was read ' by
Mrs. Wesley Tiffin. Mrs. Don Ross
gave the meditation Ye are my
friends. Mrs: Bill. Evans followed
with prayer. 0 Master let me walk
with Thee was sung by all.
Mrs. John de Boer read a poem,
A Tribute to a Housewife. The
treasurer's report was given by
Mrs. Wallace Milligan. Mrs.
Milligan. informed the group she
had a box of samples of men's
suiting given her by her brother
which she would give to the group
if they wished to have them. The
group decided to accept the
patches. The offering was dedic-
ated. by Mrs. , Wallace Milligan.
Miss Annie Laidlaw , .gave the
topic. Our Response to God.
The October meeting was read.
it is the Thankoffering meeting
with Mrs. Johnston Conn and Mrs.
Andrew Gaunt leaders and. helpers
Mrs. Don Caesar and Mrs. John
Gaunt. Mrs. Gaunt was given a list
of suggested speakers. and guests
to be invited are United Church
Women of Whitechurch. Kinlough.
Langside and Calvin -Brick. This
meeting will be held in the Sunday
School room.
The roll call was answered by 11
giving an article from the Glad
Tidings or Record. Mrs. Dawson
Craig read a report from Louise
Ruth and handed out material she
received at the sectional meeting at
Langside. Mrs. Robert Ross gave
the closing prayer.
The Ladies Aid meeting was then
held.
Mrs. John de Boer, treasurer of
Ladies Aid, gave a financial
statement stating the bills for
cleaning the manse had been paid
with a balance left.
The collection was received and
the meeting closed by repeating
the Lord's `prayer in unison. The
hostess served lunch as it was the
Birthciy Tea. No one present had a
birthday in July. August and
September.
The courtesy remarks were given
by Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw.

The monthly .meeting of Kings-
bridge Catholic- Women's. League,,,
attended by twenty members.,
opened' with prayer led by Father
Dentinger. Mrs: Howard presided
and Mrs. Van Osch read the
scripture. Anti -Abortion prayer
was said.
Wedding gifts have been given to
Gerry O'Neil, Lynn Austin, Donny
Frayne, Judy Moran and Des
Courtney, a mass card for Shannon
Forgett and 'contribution to C.N.
I.B. in memory of Cheryl McLen-
nan. The Huronview birthday
program hosted by the League in
July was successful. The treasur-
er's report was given by Mrs.
Austin. Mrs. Courtney reported on
the draw. and thankedh all who
helped with it. Father Dentinger
reported on the. play 'Fiddler on a
Roof' and how successful it was.
Roll call , was taken by Mrs.
Frayne. Gifts were presented to
two Guide leaders, Mrs. Tina
VanDiepan and 'Betty Hendricks.
Mrs.. Courtney reported on Frank
Sullivan's and. Mrs. Lambertus'
birthdays and a party was planned
for Father Dentinger's birthday.
The Deanery meeting will be
held at St. Columban and this was.
discussed. Correspondence was
read by Mrs. Martin. Thank you .

Leddy and family and 'Mrs. Bob
Howard. A Leifer was read from
the Bishop re the C.W.L. work.
Mrs... Martin talked about the
Catholic Weekly Register and read
a humorous article from it. " .
Volunteers to . visit the sick in
hospital are Mrs. O'Keefe and
Mrs. Frayne. It is C.N.i.B.time
again and Mrs. Carl Riegling asked
for help. The 441 club, sponsored
by the League is led this time by
Mrs. Hogan and Mrs. Van Osch.
There are 15 members. Catering
was reported on by Mrs. Frayne
Father Dentinger mentioned a
TV program October 6, CFTO-TV
'What is a Catholic School?'. He
read an article, on the place of
women in the church down through
the ages.
The London Diocesan Council
will host the Provincial meeting. " A
donation will be sent.
The meeting was adjourned.

The Dungannon U.C.W. held
their September meeting in the
chureh on Tuesday evening: Mrs.
LaVerne Pentland and Mrs. Wilf-
red Pentland were in charge of the
worship service.

and cathedral's in England and
Wales were shown. The "slides and
commentary, were prepared : by
Mrs. LaVerne Pentland's daugh-
ter, Mrs. B'iloy about her recent
trip to the . Briti.sh Isles, and were
greatly enjoyed by all present.
Mrs. Elma Reed gave a humorous
reading, 'On Church Music'.
A two -minute silence was obser-
ved in memory of the late Mrs.
Harvey Alton who had always been
a faithful and willing worker
with the U.C.W.
Mrs. K. -. K. Dawson ..was ap-
pointed as treasurer for the re-
mainder of 1974,. this position
having .been held by Mrs. Alton
until her death. It was decided that
anew percu.lator for the kitchen be
purchased before anniversary Sun-
day of possible.
At the close of the meeting a
dainty lunch was served by Mrs.
Leonard Reed and Mrs. George
Errington.

and games. Kay was the recipient
of many gifts.
On Friday evening Mr. and Mrs.
Wallace Milligan, Mary Lou and

Streetsville and on Saturday ' at 3
o'clock attended the wedding of
Paul Sanford and Janet Carr at St.
Martins Church, Erindale.

Niagara on theLake visited Mon-
day and. Tuesday with her brother
Wallace Milligan, Mrs. Milligan,
Mary Lou and Clara.
The Whitechurch Junior C on
Thanksgiving week -end will play
Saturday, October 12 at 8.30 at
Carls' Dad Springs. 15 mile east of
Ottawa the final play of game for
OASA. If a 3rd game is necessary
it will be played Sunday evening,
October 14. A bus will be going to
take the team and there will be a
few seats available for the public.
