a, floor length pink French dotted
Swiss gown featuring a wide ruffle
at the hemline, long unlined
sleeves with white lace insertion
outlined with daisy lace on the
upper sleeve and waistband.
White daisy lace trimmed the low
square neckline; bodice and
cuffs.
The bridesmaids Charlotte Birss
of Kitchener, Debbie Small of
'Dublin, cousin of the bride, and
Cynthia Perrin of Waterloo, sister
orthe bride, wore blue gowns to
match the matron of honor. All
wore matching flowers in their
hair and carried bouquets of pink
and white carnations and baby's
breath.

Whelan arrived by helicopter at
the Ackert farms at Holyrood on
Tuesday of last week.
He was accompanied by the
Liberal candidate for Bruce, Craw•
ford Douglas and was piped into •
the gathering by area .pipers Frank
MacKenzie of Kinloss and Murray
McDonald of Ripley.
Jim Aitchison of St. Helens met
the Agriculture Minister with his
4 -horse hitch and conveyed him
to the lawn between the Ackert
house and abattoir where he spoke
to the gathering.
Ron Oswald, president of Bruce
Liberal Association, acted as
chairman for the informal gather-
ing. Leo Murray, Reeve of Kin-
loss , presented Mr. Whelan with a
gift. Ross Whicher, retiring mem
ber of parliament in Bruce , also
Johnston of St. Pauls, cousins of
the groom, and Richard Gaudet of
Conestoga, cousin of the bride.
All wore white brocaded tuxedoes'
with black trim and blue "
ruffled shirts.

A reception took place at the
Waterloo Motor Inn. The bride's
Mother received the guests wear-
ing a blue chiffon floor length
gown with long sleeves, a lace
bodice , low square neckline and
a corsage of pink roses. The
groom's mother wore a white
floral embossed gown featuring
long sleeves and bodice of rose
polyester crepe with a corsage of
white roses.
Guests of honor at the wedding
were Mrs. J. C. Robinson and
Mrs. Gershom Johnston', both of
Wingham, grandmothers of the
groom.
Before they left for their tour
through the eastern States and a
cruise to Nassau on the Oceanic
the bride donned a pant suit with
a corsage of red roses. They will
reside in Kitchener.

Ripley Beef'Club
The second meeting of the Rip-
ley -Beef -Club was held on Wed.-
nesday, June. 26 at Ripley District
High School. Rick Smith opened
the tneeting and all repeated the
4-H pledge.
Roll call was answered by all
members present. Heather Boyle
read the minutes of the last meet-
ing. The next meeting will be
held on July 1'7 at Ripley District
High School,
The leader, Hugh Mason, then
discussed livestock feeding terms
and identification of feeds. Then
all answered the quiz at the end
of rhe chapter. Rick Smith ad-
journed the meeting.
