Dear Barry:
Pardon me, for not writing to in-
form you of my plans for July 1st
week end.
As you must know Vancouver
Island is a fair distance from
Lucknow and financially it isn't
getting any closer. Therefore I.
regret to inform yos that
it is impossible forme and my..
wife to be there on July lst.
Although, because of a transfer ,
we will be unable to attend, my
two oldest boys should be in the
vicinity and will quite likely
enjoy your reunion.
I hope the Lucknow reunion will
be a great success as muchfor the
people of Lucknow as the visitors,
and I really believe I will be rniss-
ing one of the best week ends in
the history of our Sepoy Town.
Yours truly,
Art Howald

Dear Don:
I just received your letter dated
June lst regarding the reunion and
regret that the Hewat juniors can-
not join what would appear to be
a great celebration. I was look-
ing at the program and you would
almost thfnk that the Hewats and
the Thompsons had something to
do with the program. For every
day there seems to be some sort
of a supper or a barbecue. It is
those Church socials and garden
parties that I really miss out here
6n the coast.
We had hoped to get down this
summer"but unfortunately circum-
stancesdictate that we are going
to have to stay in Vancouver for at
least another year and
tentatively we plan a trip to Ont-
ario in 1976.
Give our best wishes for a
successful reunion and a very spec-
ial personal hello to Bev , all the
girls, and all the relatives.
Your western cousin,
Bob Hewat ,
Vancouver.
P.S. I am.enclosing money for
the ticket on the draw. Hope you
sent me the lucky one. -
Dear Don:
Have received your letters and
we certainly hope to be able to
attend the Reunion in Lucknow as
it is still home and always will
be for the Jim Valad family of
Holyrood. We are always proud
to tell where we catfie from and.
I'm sure there's very few in Wind-
sor who have not heard of both
places from us. Hoping you and
yours are all well, and if the
Good Lord willing, we hope to

she'll be able to attend with us',

the invitation.'

Dear Don:
I am fine , hope you are all the
same. Find enclosed a
cheque for the Lucknow Sentinel.
Sure made it bad when the strike
was on, over a month behind, all
mixed up. I am still
trying to sell the farms if weather
ever straightens out. Very little
crop in around here. We have
had snow every month since Aug-
ust 16. Got over 2 ft. of it then
before I came out in October.
Hope it clearsaway or no crops
this year. I have 2 buyers after
the land but terrible weather.
Good luck on your celebration,
sure hope to be home but guess I
won't until later.

Dawson Creek, B.C.
