Petition Circulated
By Pro -Life- Group
Alliance. for Life is a national
federation of people of every
occupation, religious background ,
who believe that all human life --
before and after birth -- has a
right to caie and protection. In
its efforts on behalf of the unborn,
Alliance for Life has drawn up a
petition to be presented to the
Canadian Government in the Fall
of 1974. The aim of the federa-
tion is to get 1,000,000 or more
signatures on the petition.
The local pro-life group, voice
of •the Unborn, an affiliate of
Alliance for Life, has cooperated
with the national federation in.
circulating the petition in Turn-'
berry , Hawick, Morris, and Grey
Townships of Huron County.
,,There may be some people who
have not had the opportunity to
speak up on behalf of the unborn
children in our society. If this
is the case ,.. a petition sheet will
be brought to him or her person-
ally by a pro-life member, if the
wish is indicated.
The wording of the petition is as
follows: Parliament's most basic
duty is to. protect innocent human
life. The scientific
evidence now puts it beyond reas-
onable doubt that a new human
life begins at conception, yet our
laws pertnit'the widespread prac-
tice of abortion in Canada.
Therefore , we the undersigned ,
jeccall upon Parliament to enact
legislation providing for the child
ticeiWed-bat- not--yet—born---
same protection provided for any
other person.
We also urge Parliament to show
leadership in fostering a life-
sustaining society.
