Herbert and Mrs. Herbert , accom-
panied by friends from Burlington,
Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Smith, .have
returned from a three week
holiday in Europe.
They commenced their trip-in
Paris, France, travelling to south-
ern France and Nice on the
Riviera. In Italy they visited
Rome , Florence , Venice and
Genoa. They visited Innsbruck
in Austria- a,nd Zurich , Switzerland
before travelling to Germany and
Holland, where they stayed at
Amsterdam.
After a few days, in London,
England they visited parts of Eng-
land and Scotland before returning
honie.
Move To Houston
Farm At Holyrood.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Allin`,
from the Acton area , are now
residing at R. R. 3 Holyrood , hav-
ing purchased the 250 acre farm
from Ken Houston last fall, with
possession being given the first of
May. The Houston farm is locat-
ed on the Lucknow -Holyrood
county road, about a half mile
south of Holyrcod.
Mr. and Mrs. Allin have a fam-
ily of one daughter and two sons

Died In Toronto-
Following a brief illness Dr. P.
Clarence MacMillan, Toronto,
passed away on Tuesday, May
14th.
Dr. MacMillan is survived by
his wife. Ann, one son William
Ross MacMillan and one brother
Ross MacMillan of Watford, form-
erly of Lucknow.
Funeral service was held at
the Butler Funeral Chapel with
interment in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery..
THAT Jim Peterson; a member of
the Lucknow Reunion Committee,
has been trying to. drum up some
interest in a horseshoe pitching
contest for the big event. Sat-
urday, .June 29, has been set. as
the day for the competition and
all area • people, young and old,
who„ might be interested in pitch-
ing the shoes are asked to regis-
ter with ,Mrs. Stuart Jamieson,
reunion secretary, ,Lucknow ,
Ontario by June 15. The entry
fee is a nominal $2.
THAT Mrs. Lou Anderson of Zion
won $147 at the Goderich Legion
Bingo last Saturday night.

THAT the Lucknow United Church
Sunday School anniversary and
congregational picnic was held .
on Sunday at Silver Lake camp.
Musical. accompaniment on the•
accordion was provided by Mrs.
Herb Barger with the sound sys-
tern operated by Jim Boyle being
used in the.service. Rey. Robprt
Nicholls conducted the worship
service at 11 a.m. in the\ outdoor
chapel followed by a congrega-
tional meeting which voted in •
. favour of the recommendation
of the pastoral relations corn=
mittee concerning the calling of
a new miniSter, Rev. Douglas
Kaufman of Wynyard., Saskatche ,
wan: A picnic dinner followed.

THAT the Town and Country Club
had a week end trip to Ottawa on
April 18, 19, 2.0 to view the tul-
ips. The Arts and Crafts show
was quite a success with a fine
display of quilts, afghans, paint-
ings, fancy work as well as an-
tiques. Everyone helped to make
it an outstanding event. On the.
4th the Goderich Club will make
a visit when about 35 visitors are
expected.
THAT a second banner, advertis-
ing the Lucknow Reunion on the
July 1st week end, was sating
across main street on Monday.
Only the most unobservant mot-
orist can miss the two banners
as they travel through Lucknow
on Highway 86.
THAT Lucknow Kinsmen Club
staged a gentlemen's fund rais-
ing event at the arena on Satur-
day night which was well attend-
ed. Three draws were held
throughout the evening. Gordon
Barger Jr. was the winner of $200
with Dave Button of Lucknow and
Doug Bannerman of Holyrood
each winning $50. An Olympic
lottery ticket was won by Bill
Kirkey of Goderich.- Vince
Mountford provided the enter-
tainment for the night.. Hugh
Johnstone of London, formerly
of Lucknow , a talented vocalist,
sang several numbers through the
evening. Hugh had been featur-
.
ed on the CKNX special Canad-
ian Arthritis Society show that
evening. His part in the TV pro
gram had been taped earlier.
The Kinsfnen event concluded
with the serving of a cold plate
supper.

In Bruce Riding
A. E. Greer of Glamis, return-
ing officer for the -Federal Riding
of Bruce, has announced that
. \ the total number of electors enum-
erated/ on the prelirninary.list is
45 ,239. There were 42,357 in the
1972 election.
The, number of advance polls is
13. The number of regular polls,
including Split polls, is 242.
