read by Nancy Brown. Some busi-
ness was discussed, and the next
meeting is planned for June 18th ,
at 8.00 p.m. in the Town Hall.
The girls present were then
taught how to crochet by Mrs.
Belle Mole, Mrs. Isobel MacKen-
zie , Mrs. Betty McDonagh, Mrs.'

PUBLIC SPEAKING.
The Bruce County'Farm Safety
Council decided to sponScir a
Public Speaking Competition
for Elementary School students in
Ruce County'. The Women's
Institute Branches and District
were asked to accept the respon-
sibility of conducting this com-
petition. Kairshea Women's Insti-
tute would have sponsored interest-
ed ones who live in the area:
Chuck Hungtington wrote an
essay but would have been ,the
only participant.

Lynn and. Gordon Dawson and
daughter Tracy of London and Miss
Wilda Dawson of Toronto visited
recently with Mr. and Mrs. Don
Dawsbn and family, also visiting
with. the Dawsons were Mr. and

Mrs. Walter Black, Mrs, Jack
McGuire and Brian and Mrs. Rob-
ert Engel of Dublin enjoyed a. trip
to Ottawa last weekend. Also
