NEWS
The Brownies held their regular
meeting on Tuesday, May 14th
and it opened with two games
"Statues" and "'Musical Chairs".
Judy Hunter was Fairy Queen for
the meeting. The sixers collect-
ed Brownie Gold followed by in-
spection. We then had our
Brownie Prayer.
At ii4w Wow we sang Happy.
Birthday to Anne Hamilton and
Judy Hunter. Plans, were made to
hold a Brownie Revel on Saturday.
May 25th at Greer's farm. Every-
one will meet at the Ton Hall
at 9.30 arid'hike „to the /farm.
The Brownies are making plans for
going to Storybook Gardens in
London on June 1st.
During work period Brown Owl

"Brownie Band".

Electrical Storm
Causes Damage To
Kinlough Church

On ThUrsday night and early
Friday morning during the height
of a severe electric storm the
spire:of the Anglican Church was
struck by lightning. Shingles
were. torn off at the belfry and the
sheathing and roof on the east
corner was damaged. It followed
the eavetrough to the north corn-
er where 'it knocked out" a number
of bricks and came on to the Oil
tank which grounded it. Most of
the inside damage was electrical
which included the organ. SeVer-
al other homes in the immediate
area had damage done to electric-
al appliances and other items.
Mrs. Bill Burt accompanied the-
Shaw family to Torontq last week.
Mr. and Mrs. George Burt
of Toronto spent the week end
with Mr. and Mrs.' Bill Burt. They
were all guests at Miss Donna
Burt's wedding on Saturday.
Donnie McFarlan, Janet Lane
and 'Karen 'Medley went on the
Kindergarten bus trip to the /vius-
eurn at Owen Sound on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bennett
Jr. of Toronto visited with his
grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Art
Haldenby. •

Lois Nicholson of Milton' spent
the holiday weekend with her

Mary MacDonald who has been
hospitalized for several weeks.
