Frayne and all members were
urged to renew their memberships
quickly.
Mrs. Mark Dalton talked about
Action Life Committee of one
million and stressed that all mem-
bers should sign this petition if
they have not done so yet.
Mrs. Fred Crawford discussed
the vehicle check the League -
carried out.. They had three diff-
erent locations to look after from
.2-6 p.m.
Mrs. Joe Courtney reported on
the following items of interest in
the Church and community: Can-
cer Campaign, First Holy Corn
Munion, Confirmation, the, Gym-
nastics' Demonstration and medal
presented to Donna Drennan as out
standing student , Kindergarten
registration, presentation to.. Mr
and Mrs.. Dennis Hogan on
moving 'to Goderich birthday
visits by league members to Mrs.
Dwyer and. Mr. k.ank Austin, "
Grade Eight Graduation coming
soon, and the poster contest in
which 'our school did very well.
Mrs. Courtney also read the
cycle Resolution WhiCh our League
will, be presenting soon at the
Convention.
• Mrs. Frank 'Riegling sends out
the cards for 'the League now so
please contact her if you know of
anyone from our community in
the hospital'. Any volunteers to
help the conveners please con-
tact Mrs. Howard. The agenda
for the convention Was read ,by
the president. ,
We have been invited to the
Dungannon U.C. W. meeting
Tuesday, May 21. The raffle.
and an'occasion for this 'was dis-
cussed and a date will be set
soon. A vote on the price of the
tickets was taken.
Fr. Dentinger thanked the cat-
ering committee. for the lunch at
the First Comrnunion Celebration:
He commented-on the wonderful
Mass put on by the Kindergarten
class. A Mother's Day Luncheon
will be put on Sunday by the
Youth Club. Rev. Barry Whit,
tacker had an article in the Lon-
don Free Press stressing the good
that the Catholic schools do in
the community. Fr. stressed that
there is a real need for prayer
and spiritual devot ion in the
home , and that children need some
encouragement here.
We discussed the method of
voting for the winner of the Citiz-
enship Award that the threeLeag-
ues give each year. It was decid-
ed that the school is doing well in
their own method. It was suggest-
ed that there should be a General
Proficiency Award and the details
for this will be decided on soon.
The Installation of Officers will
take place at the First Friday Mass
nexfmonth.
The meeting adjourned and
closed with prayer.
During lunch the mystery gift •
was drawn for by Mrs. Arlene
Gibbons and won by Mrs. Joe
O'Keefe.

Lucknow Unit 2
Unit 2 of Lucknow United
Church Women held the
May meeting at the church with
15 members present. Mrs. Vernon
Hunter opened the meeting with a
poem , followed by a hymn.
.Miss 'Lorna Campbell gave the
treasurer's report. Social func-
tions report was given by NIrs.
Kirkland. Mrs. A. Ritchie report-
ed on supply and welfare.
Supplies are needed for Angola .
We then joined the other units
in the family room where.Nir.
Nicholls showed slides on Kenya.
St. Andrew's UCW
Mrs.• Steve Irwin presided for •
the program. of Unit 3 of St. And-
rew's United Church Women, Rip-
ley , 'when they met for their May,
meeting at the Ripley Public
School. Mrs. Dan MacDonald had
secured the film "That All May
Be One" and Mrs. Doug MacDon-
ald operated the projector. This
was a new and thought larovoking
film When members divided
into groups for discussion, they
felt the film had 'brought out the
needs of 'all ages and races .for
God's love and how
grateful we should all be for such
bounty as exists in our area , and
should be more willing' to share
with others who are less fortunate.
Devotions were conducted by
Mrs. Gordon Scott, Mrs. Elwyn
Pollock and Mrs. Morris Reid.
Miss Debbie Tranter gave a most
interesting account of a week end
spent in Toronto recently at a
Faith At Work Conference. One
address had impressed her with
God's unconditional love and the
need to look at people through
Godt.s,eyes. It had 'been an in-
spiring experience. Mrs. Cecil,
Carnochan and Mrs. Baas Vander
Hoek sang a .lovely.duet accorn-
panied by Debbie Tranter.

ducted by Mts. Wm. Arnold and
Mrs. Jas. Kirkpatrick. Mrs. Mur-
ray Culbert will assist in the kitch;
en for the Mother and Daughter
banquet. Unit 3 will be in charge
of flowers for church in July. A
Mini Leadership School will be
held in Teeswater on June 6 and
the U.C. W. will be in charge of
the church service on June`2nd.
Some planning is being done for
Bible Vacation School. Mrs. Dan
MacDonald reported that one jar
for donations had not been return-
Lunch was served by Mrs. Rod
MacDonald, Mrs.' Wayne Nixon
and Mrs. Carnochan and A Social
chat enjoyed.
