The May meeting of. Trinity
United Church Women was held
in the Church basement o4 Thurs-
day afternoon, with an attendance
of 22 and one child.
The meeting opened with the
singing of Hymn l99, "For the
beauty of the Earth" and all re-
peated the Lord's prayer in
unison. The President. •
Mrs..Charles Wilkins gave a short
poem "If You Have a Garden".
Devotions follo4ed with Mrs. Torn
Helmteading a verse and leading
in prayer. This is My Father's
World" was repeated in unison.,
Mts. Frank Ritchie read the scrip-
ttire , and hymn 330, was sung.
Mrs. Helm gave the meditation
which was "On Building". Mrs.
Rank Ritchie continued the devo-
tions with further meditation on
Love, and the closing verse of
"Love Divine" was sung.
A skit was presented on the "Life
of Naomi", with Mrs. Cliff Men-
ary , Mrs. Allan Ritchie and Mrs.'
Torn Helm taking the different
parts. Hymn 611 "Saviour Teach
Me Day by Day" was sung. Devo-
tions closed with prayer by Mrs.
Helm. Mrs. Alex Hackett gave a
reading, "The Meanest Mother in
the World" which had a good les-
son in it for us all. ,
Mrs. Chester Hackett had the
study book, with the topic "Mis-
sion To-day". She was assisted
by Mrs. Frank Alton, Mrs. Donald
Hackett, Mrs. Wm. Andrew , and
Mrs.' Cliff Kilpatrick, she also had
some thought provoking questions
for us. and then Mrs. Hackett ,
closed with prayer. Our next
meeting will be the Gra,ndmother's
meeting, inune. It was decided
to give the Church a spring clean-
ing on May 28.
After the business portion of the
meeting the president closed with
prayer. As it was the annual
Spring Plant and Bake Sale, the
auctioneer quickly disposed of
the many articles. A dainty lunch
followed by the committee.in
charge.
Lucknow Unit 3
Unit 3- of Lucknow United
Church Women met in the
Fellowship room of the church on
May 7, with fourteen members
present.
Mrs. Glen Walden opened the
meeting with a poem, Spring
Time. Hymn 674, The Glory of
the Spring, was sung, accompan-
ied by Mrs. E. W. Rice. This
was followed by the Lord's prayer.
The roll call was answered by,
naming a favourite
hymn.
Mrs. Walden made a number
of announcements. A movie will
be shown in the Fellowship room
on Saturday, May 11. An invita-
tion was received to attend St.
Helens U.C. W. Thankoffering
May 13 at 8.30 p.m. A Hobby
Sale will be held at the June
meeting 'of Unit 3.. Mrs.
Charles McDonald, reporting
for social functions made arrange-
ments for a 'mother and daughter
banquet May 9. Mrs. James
Ritchie reported for community
friendship and Mrs. John Mac-
Murchy for supply:
Following this business,, period
the three afternoon units met to
gether for a program, A meaning-
ful worship service was presented
by Mrs. Sam Gibson and. Mrs. -N.
J. MacKenzie. A reading "Lit-
tle Things" was given by Mrs.
Eldon Ritchie and Miss Helen
Thompson favoured with a solo,
accompanied by Mrs. Jack Kil-
patrick.
The main feature of the pro-
gram was a film Nendeni, which
was introduced by Mrs. Walden.
Rev. Nicholls operated the pro-
jector. T his was a very interest-
ing and informative film portray-
ing the work of the church among
many groups of people in Kenya ,
Africa. The word Nendeni,
means Go Ye. A discussion fol-
lowed and Mrs. p.aynard Ackert'
closed the meeting with prayer.
Tea was served by ladies of the
three units.

• KINLOUGH NEWS
Mrs. Ronald Thacker was host-
ess for the meeting of the Kin-
lough Anglican Church Women.
This was a work meeting and a
quilt was quilted chiring the. after -
noon. Mrs. Gertrude Walsh pres-
ided for the devotional part and
read an article on "Love" from the
Living Message. Mrs. Art Hald -
enby was in charge of,the scripture
with prayers following. A lovely
meditation on 'The Samaritan
Woman" was given by Mrs. Roy
Collins. The word for the roll
call was "A woman of the Bible"
and the meeting Closed with pray-
er .
Miss May Boyle gave the court-
esy remarks. Mrs. George Gra-
ham will be the June hostess and
it will be a devotional meeting
with Mrs. Midford Wall and Mrs..
David, Haldenby conveners.
St. Augustine CWL
The St. Augustine Catholic
WOrnen's League meeting was held
in the Parish Hall on Tuesday,.
May 7th. with a good attendance
and the president Mrs. Wm. Kina-
han presiding: Father Dentinger
opened the meeting with the
League prayer.
Mrs. Cyril Boyle read the cor-
respondence, a thank you card
from Stephen Hickey and a letter
from U.C. W. Dungannon and also
HurOnview workshop at Clinton.
Mrs. Lena Hickey gave the treas-
urer's report.
Mrs. Gus Redmond reported
two get well cards were sent out
to Brian Leddy and Norman Fdran.
The same executive was voted in
for the second term, 1974-75.
• A gas stove, has been installed
in the , Parish Hall by the C. W.L.
Mrs. Marie Hibert and Mrs. Bill
Andrews are appointed to audit
the books. It was decided to
cater to a wedding 8eptember
21st at Saitford Valley Hall, Sun-
day , May 12 Ma$s of Our Lady of
Good Council and Sunday May 26
is to be Crowning of the Blessed
Virgin Mary. An executive
meeting is to be held Monday
evening May 20th,
Father Dentinger gave an inter-
esting talk on the involvement
of the young people on Liturgy.
A plant sale will be held at .the
June meeting.
The meeting closed with pray-
er, Lunch was served by 'the
hostess in charge.

Unit 1 Lucknow United Church
Women held their regular meet-
ing in the church parlor on Tues-
day , May 7.
Mrs. Sam Gibson opened the
meeting with a poem. The hymn
Happy the home was sung follow-
ed by prayer. The roll call was
answered by 15 with a verse on
Mother. The business was dealt
with. There will be a film in
the church on May 11, also an
executive meeting on May 14 at
8 p.m.
We have an invitation from St.
Helens U.C. W. for. Monday, May
13 when Mary MacIntyre will give
a talk and show slides on Africa.
The general "meeting is on May 21.
A Hobby sale will•be in June at
our regular meeting at Mrs. Wal- .
ter Dexter's home. Mrs. Clarence
Bell gave a report on social func-,
tions and made arrangements for
the mother and daughter banquet
on May 9th. Mrs. Nelson Ray-
nard for supply and welfare asked
for the used clothing, pieces for
quilts, plastic bags, etc: to be
sent in by June 1st or taken to
the next meeting.-
We then closed our meeting and
joined Units 2 and 3 for devotion-
