Kincardine Moving
Quickly On
$1,100,000 Project
The proposed community centre
for Kincardine and District appears
to be nearing reality. Town coun-
cil met with representatives of the
Community Centre Committee for
Kincardine and District
last Tuesday evening and was told .
that fund raising for the project '
was approaching the $975,000
figure.
Heading the funds' is a $350,000
federal-provincial forgivable loan.
The town of Kincardine has pledg-
ed to debenture $225;009 and Kin.
cardine Township will debenture
$75,009 for the project.
The committee stated two
months ago that it would raise
$225,000 over the next two years
and it is already near that goal as
over $175 ,000 has been raised or
pledged since the first of March.
The other $100,000 would come
in the form of $25,000 Commun-
ity Centre Grants (provincial) from
Kincardine, Kincardine Township ,
Tiverton and Bruce Township.
The $975;000 total leaves the
committee $125;000 short of its
objective of $1,100,000.
