Aitchison played melodies while
the ladies gathered. Mrs, RoSs
Errington was 'chairlady for the
program and read an address of
good wishes. Taking part in the
program were Mrs.: Bob Aitchison,
Mrs. Peter Chandler and Mrs. Jim
Curran with readings; musical
numbers by Gail ,Pritchard and
Mrs, Jack Forster and Wendy, Mrs,
Rickey Humphrey and a group of
St. Helen's girls. Contests were
conducted by Mrs. Tom Pritchard
and Mrs. Frank McQuillin.
Assisting the bride in opening
her gifts were Mrs. Wayne
Grigg of Kitchener and Mrs. Gord-
on Hunt of Owen Sound, sisters of
the bride. Placing the gifts were
Beverley MacPherson ? Barbara
Aitchison, Bonnie Humphrey,
Dayle McDonald and Debbie
Errington. Corinne thanked the'
ladies and lunch was served at the
conclusion.
Band Presents
Concert Saturday
The Lucknaw Concert Band,
under the direction of bandmaster
GOrdon,Cayley, played their
annual spring concert to a packed
auditoriutn at the' Lucknow Cen-
tral PubliC School on Saturday.
Dale Lougheed , band president
welcomed those in attendance
and commented on the progress
the band had made throughout the
year: Numbering about -60, the
senior band also have a junior
band group training since
last Fall and this, group played
midway, throughout the program
directed by .band member Paddy
Murray.
Dale spoke of the contribution
of accompanist Mrs. Torn (Anne)
Pritchard and bandmaster Gordon
Cayley and presented them both
with gifts".
Mr. Cayley led the band
throughout' the program and com-
mented on some of the numbers
presented.'
The band presented much more
difficult. numbers this year and
,the results of much practising
and training ,was very 'evident.
In addition,to the band mein-
bers several solo and group num-
bers interspersed, the prbgram:
baritone sold, Susan Hedley;
coronet solos, Colin Cameron,
Paddy Murray, Eric Cayley; coron-
et duet , Paddy Murray , Paul
Finlay;'saxaphone solo, Jean Reid;
trombone and coronet trio, Dale.
Lougheed, Murray Keith, Dorene
Anderson; clarinet duet ,'Joan
Hamilton, Steve Pritchard; clar
inet solo, Ruth Henderson; Anne
Pritchard was accompanist
on all individual numbers.
Plans Made For
Farmstead Contest
The Farmstead Improvement
Coritest in Bruce County is well
under way.. All townships were
represented at the second meet-
ing held at Paisley Central School
on May 1st and further details
of the contest were decided upon.
The whole idea behind this con-
test is to beautify the county in
preparation 'for the"Big Year ,
1976, the year of the International
Plowing Match, so all residents
are encouraged to get into the
spirit of the event and do their
bit to improve the picture of
rural Bruce.
There will be five classes in
the contest.. These were.ali listed
in an earlier ;issue of this newspape
along with the officers and town-
ship chairmen.
ST. HELENS
Mrs. Andrew daunt visited on
Tuesday with, her brother; Earl
Sherwood at University Hospital,
London. Mr. Sherwood was great-
ly improved.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Corbett
of Alliston were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Allan Miller.
Grant McQuillin is a patient in
Wingham and District Hospital.
On Monday evening, May 13th,
the U.C. W. of the St. Helen's
Church are having Miss Mary Mac-
Intyre as guest speaker at their
meeting at 8.30 p.m. Mary will
tell of her recent trip to ,ATEica
Everyone is invited to hear her
travelogue.

101 st Anniversary
Observed Sunday
The 101st anniversary of Luck-
now Presbyterian Church was ob-
served Sunday, May 5th with spec•
ial services morning and evening.
Dr. R. G. MacMillan D.D. of
Oakville, formerly of Goderich
was guest minister.
Special'soloist• was Mrs. Bertha
Scott of Ripley.
Organist was Mrs. Donalda
Scott and pianist was Norman
Taylor.
Special music was supplied by
the choir and a male quartette,
Dale Haldenby, , Norman Taylor,
Cyril Brown and Austin Loree.

MRS. CHARLES BURT
Annie Laura , the beloved wife
of Charles Burt , -passed away sud-
denly in the County of Bruce Gen-
eral ,Hospital in Walkerton on Sun-
day , April 14.
The former Annie Laura Howe
was born in, Teeswater• on
November .6 , 1883 , where she
lived until 1910 when she married
Charles Burt of Toronto.
They lived in Torpnto four 'years
before returning to Teeswater.
Since then they have lived in
Holyrood, Kinlough and Kincar -
dine. Two years ago they took
up residence in Brucelea Haven ,
