A. family gathering was held on
Sunday , May 5 , at .the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Irvin, Ash-
field , in honour of his father, Wil-
liam Irvin's 82nd birthday.
Others present were Mrs. Wil-.
Ham Irvin, Mr, and Mrs. Percy
Blundell of Goderich, Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Steele and Roseanne
Curran of London, Mr. and Mrs.
Eldon Irwin of Sarnia, Mr. and
Mrs., Robert Irvin of Dungannon,
Mr. and Mrs., George McGee and
girls of Clinton.
Mr. Irvin is-a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Irvin of. Ash-
field, where he was born on the
9th concession on May 1st, 1892
on the same farm where he con—
tinues to reside!
Mrs. Irvin is the former Mabel
Alton. They were married 60
years ago this coming September.
Of special interest at the close
of Sunday School on Sunday morn-
ing was the presentation of a desk
set to Frank Pentland , who had
served seventeen years as super-
intendent. In well chosen
remarks Wayne Snyder expressed
the appreciation of all Sunday
School members for his faithful
work and made the presentation.
In thanking the members and
teachers Frank stated that the
co-operation he always received ,
had made his work a pleasure.

mony uniting Rosemary Elizabeth
Eedy and William O. Gardner.
The'bride is the only daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Eedy of
R. R. 1 Dungannpn and the groom
is'the son of Mr. and Mrs, Orval
Gardner, Stratford.
Gold candelabras centred with,
white daisies and large mauve
mums decorated the church.
Given in marriage by her par-
,ents, the bride wore a shimmer-
ing opulence ligoda floor-length
gown of white satin with square
neckline and smocked bodice. -A
nosegay of white roses and
daisies held her cathedral veil
edged with 'scalloped lace. She
carried a lace covered white
bible With a mauve and white •
orchid , white streamers and steph-
anotis.
The matron of honour was Mrs.
Barabara Eedy, sister-in-law of
the bride. .
Bridesmaids were Miss Martha
Eedy, Miss Carole Cruickshank,
cousins of bride and Miss Patricia
Willert , friend of the bride.
All of the bride's attendants,
wore dresses of white satin Crepe
with sheer overskirt with embossed
purple velvet roses and pUrple
velvet sash. Each carried a white
basket of. white daisies and mauve
baby's breath.
Flower girl, Miss Lisa McTav-
ish of Eganville , wore an all
white satin crepe dress styled sim-
ilar to the bridesmaids and
carried a basket of miniature
mauve carnations,
Groomsman was Robt.
Gardner , twin brother of the
groom. Ushers were Dan Gardner ,
Paul Eedy brother of the bride.

The groom and his attendants '
chose brown tuxedos with brown
velvet lapels and bow ties, yellow
ruffled shirts and a yellow bouton-
niere.
Organist was Miss Karen' Rivett
Wingham, and soloist Miss Nancy
Anderson, Auburn, sang The
Lord's Prayer. During the signing
of the register she sang Ava Maria
and We've Only Just Begun.
The Lucknovi Legion Hall was
decorated with wedding bells and
pink and white streamers.
The bride's mother received the
guests wearing yellow flowered
organdy with high neckline and
yellow velvet trim , white acces-
sories and yellow sweetheart rose

earing mint green crepe
was assisted by the groom's
with ruffled neckline and a white
gardenia corsage.
The bride's travelling costume
was a princess style white knit
dress, red corsage and navy acces-
sories Aft.er 'a wedding trip to.
Niagara .Falls and points east, the
pride and groOm will reside in
Stratford.
The groan] is employed at
Cleaver Brook of Canada and the
bride at Stratford District Co-op.
Guests were present from Sarnia ,
Stratford, Strathroy, Kingston,
Sudbury, Eganville, Calgary, New
Brunswick and Goderich area.
The bride was feted by several
showers in Goderich,, Stratford and
Dungannon Community.
