On Monday evening of last
week the village of Ripley had two
hydro interruptions - from six
thirty till eight and then from ten
to eleven. They were real black-
outs, making it necessary to bring
out candles, flashlights and other
forms of lighting. Lightning strik-
ing the main line west of Walker-
ton was the cause of the damage.
Last. Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Pat
Camphell and daughters, left Rip-
ley for Toronto. For Pat and Car-
ol and d,aughters Susan, Theresa.
and Cathy this is the first part, of a
trip which will take them back to
his native Ireland, to Mornington
"so many miles away" as the song
states. While in Ripley they resid-
ed in Mary and Joe Fludder's
apartment building on Malcolm
Street and Pat was employed at
the Nuclear Plant. By the way,
Mornington is near Drogheda -
say that name if you can.
It was two big nights - last
Thursday and Friday at the high
school auditorium as the annual
school concert was presented.,All
reports stated that it-was very
good.
