The sixth meeting of the Zippy
Trinettes was held April 27th at
1.0,0 p.m . at theTrinity, Church.
The president opened the meet-
ing by leading thirteensirls in
repeating the 4-H pledge.
The roll call which was "One
health -habit I will follow that
will help make a' lovely 'complex
, was answered by all. We
took up the hand-out notes and the
home assignments.
Mrs. .B. Alton discussed "Hair"
and Mrs. C. Wilkins discussed
"Hair Care". Our group work was
to' bring our special projects 'and
our hair equipment. We are to
have our bookss .handed in after the
seventh meeting.
Our next meeting will be held
at the Trinity Church at.7.00 p.m.
on May 3rd. Cheryl Hackett
closed. with , "Style your hair ,to
suit your own facial features, not'
to be in style with the current
trend" .

Ripley Beef Club
The organization meeting of the
Ripley' Beef Club was held in
Ripley District High School at
8.15 on Tuesday, April 23.
The leader Hugh Mason started
out the meeting by handing out
'Record Books and Project sighs:
The Club has 8 members this year.
Election of officers followed.
They resulted as follows: President,
Rick Smith; Vice President, •
Kerry Boyle; Secretary-Treasurer,
and News Reporter, Heather Boyle.
Next meeting will be held at
Hugh Mason's on May 8 at 8.15.
Murray Gaunt Is
Speaker At
Ripley Meeting
Murray Gaunt , M.P.P. was
the guest of Ripley Community
Development Group for their April
meeting, which was held in the
United Church Hall. He spoke of
several matters of interest to
everyone present. He said the'
Budget which was presented on
April 9th was mainly
designed to slow down the
inflationary rate. The 7/6 Sales
Tax is coming off some articles
such as household items and shoes
under $30. It will be easier to
transfer a farm from 'father to son.
The Land Speculation Tax is quite
new in Canada and on .
trial. Pensioners, blind and dis-
.abled will receive more help.
Liquor advertising has been dis-
cussed at various sessions'and L.C.
B.O. feels it is not effective to
ban it in one province only; but
many.letters to John Clement or
Premier Davis would have some
effect.
A group have travelled around
the Province to get views on what
people want in regards to store
hours and they are now ready to
present a report. Mr. Gaunt felt
there would be no extreme
measures taken.
Mr'; Gaunt then
answered many questions. Ripley
Senior Citizens Housing project
is corning along well and should
be ready by Fall. Hockey and
Sports are not affected by Sunday
legislation and are a municipal
matter. He was introduced by
Mrs. Oliver Mccharles and thank-
ed by Reg Moore.
• Cameron McAuley called' on
Mrs. Lock to report on Commun-
ity Home Care services. She ex-
plained it quite completely and
urged everyone to let it be known
that Home Nursing Care is avail-
able even if you have not been in
Hospital. This is a Bruce County
Service. John Gamble said there
were no developments on the Med•
ical Centre ; but they were work-
ing with a construction firm.
The May meeting will be held
the third Monday of May in the
Knox Church Hall.

Hanclicrafters
The 5th meeting of St. Helens '
Happy Handicrafters was held in
St. Helens Hall on April 22 at
7 o'clock with 17 members answer
ing the roll call. The meeting,
slogan was "A Beautiful Complex-
ion". During discussion period we
were told about different types of
skin. Md.. Humphrey read to us
on face care for your type of skin.
We talked ahout cleansing
of the face which should be done
at 'least twice daily. We were
given samples of toner,.soap,
moisturizer and foundation.
In Group Work, Mrs. Humphrey
demoristfated how to apply make
up on Annette Kirkland while the
rest worked in pairs taking turns
applying make,-up to each-other.
Our next meeting will be April /
30th.
The meeting closed with the
Creed.

WHITECHURCH NEWS
On Ttiesday evening the 4-H
Club Susie ,Q's held their 7th
meeting at the home 'of Mary Lou
Milligan. Kathy Purdon, presid-
ent,,, opened the meeting with' the
4-H Pledge. The minutes were
read by Mary Lou Milligan.
The roll call was answered by
the 4 members givilig
2 exercises and telling for what
part of the body they are good. •
'On Tuesday next a meeting will
be held at Mrs. Elliott's to plan
the skit and book covers.
The discussion group work
centred on Posture and Exercises
done and what your actions say
about you. A tape recorder was
listening to yourself wh'en your
voice was played back to you.
You learned if your voice was
piercing to tone it down, if too
low to speak more clearly, louder,
and possibly slower or faster.
The mothers had been invited
to attend this meeting to see what
the girls are doing.
Lunch was served by the hostess.
