Some member;s of theLucknow
Agricultural Society , who
fated their opinion at the meet-

ade an approach to the Lucknow
Agricultural Society asking for
support in the launching' of a new

Some members of the Craft
Festival Committee stated that
they had no knowledge of the ac-
tion that was being taken and that .
they had not been consulted in any,
'way.. Presid.ent of the. Agricultural
Society Omar Brooks, als-ca mem-
ber of the Craft,Festival Commit-
tee , stated that he concurred .with
:the action of the members of the
Craft Festival Committee who; had
sought legal advice and had auth-
orized the legal letter to be writ-
ten•to the Agricultural Society.
Some' Agricultural Society
members were not in agreement
will'', an application by some mem-
bers of the Craft Festival Com-
mittee for a goVernment grant to.,
be used in, construction ola new
'building. The application was
made late last year. Permission •
was not sought from the .Agricul-
tural Society to do this:. This
incident provided fuel for much
criticism of the manner in which
the Festival Committee had oper-
ated. The grant was not approv-
ed..
The meeting., which started at
about 8.30 , ended at about
2.20 a. TT] .
In addition to their'legal letter',
The Craft. Festival members who
were involved in the sending of
the lawyer's letter, had a'recom-
mendation on what to do with
some of the profits from the three
festivals which total about $6500.
Their recommendation was
that $2500 be donated to the Luck7
now. Lions Club Swimming Pool.
Fund to help defray, the existing
debt on the pool change rooms.
This was put as a motion before
the meeting.
An amendnient to the motion
was that the money and account
remain as is until legal advice is
sought by the board of 'directors
concerning who owns the Craft
Festival. -•

of the board of directors followed.

directors "That the directors of
the Lucknow Agricultural
Society have lost their Confidence
in the president and they ask for
his resignation”.
The motionJwas voted on and
passed.
A
the profits of the Festival have
been turned over to the Lucknow
Agricultural Society. The profits
of the 1973 Festival are at present
in the Craft Festival account and
some Festival executive_ members
had proposals concerning this mon-
ey.
Some Festival committee mem-
bers, Who. expressed their opinion,
stated that the profits haVe been
lying in the bank-for 2 1/2 years
and put to no constructive use and
that they wished to see something
done with the Festival profits.
• Some, members of the Agricul-
tural Society stated that lack Of
''direction and leadership 'by 'the
president of the society was the
reason that no action had been
taken to date ! Reference Was
made to needed improvements
at the park, but that no meetings
had been called to discuss this
matter.
Some i members of the Craft
Festival committee complained
Of lack of,co-opetation by the
Agricultuta1 .Society, repeated
criticism by society executive
members of some of the Festival
committee and lack of being in-
cluded in all decisions related to
the Craft• 'Festival.
