GUITAR RECITAL On Thursday, April 4 there was a guitar recital at the Brookside School. Mr. Pulsiver who is the guitar teacher had his students play a number of songs. The girls participating were Marsha, Alton, Diane Maize , Dia.na De Graf, Sylke Becker," The boys participating were ?) Torn Mortice , Greg Shultz, Ken- ney Ritchie , Shawn Drennan, Gordon Alton, Steven Chamney. There were also visiting students. STUDENT TEACHER This week and next week there is a student teacher at BroOkside Public. School. Miss Mills is a student oflondon Teachers' Col- lege. She is teaching Grade 8 students Of Room 11. Next week she will be teaching French throughout the school. RIPLEY HURON: NEWS FLOOR HOCKEY The boys' floor hockey games for the tabs are completed. The winning team is Jeff MacTavish. The players that get the tabs are captain Jeff MacTavish, assistant captain, Brian. Gamble, Frankie Dore, Robbie Farrell, Marvin Grubb , Robbie Lee , David Mac- Kay , Camille Poirier , Shawn Coiling and Larry Nixon. The girls final play offs for the tabs begin on April 8th. The two teams in the play offs are Shannon Courtney and Jane Farrell. Good luck to both learns. GRADE 5-6 On Wednesday, April 10th the Gr4,de 6 half are putting on a play about Sir Francis Drake. One_of our news reporters Sandra Reid has beensick this week. ' Craig Colquhoun, Linda MacDon- ald , Susie Rock, Lorie Peterbaugh, Guy Clarnpitt , -Heather MacDon- ald and Mary MacKay have also - been away this week. Andrews United Church , Ripley on: Saturday , March 23 at 3 o'clock. The bride is the daughter 'of Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Culbert, R. R. 4 Ripley. The 'groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Helm , R.' R. 1 Tiverton. Given in marriage by her fath- er,'the bride wore a floor-length gown of white polyester crepe with long sleeves and a train formed from the yoke at the back. Her veil was held in place with a dainty crown. She carried a bouquet of yellow and pink sweet heart rosebuds. Bridesmaids were' Linda Culbert , sister of the bride of R. V4 Ripley, Kay Helm, sister of the groom of R. R. 1 Tiverton and Sserda Solomon, foster sister of the bride, R. R: 4 Ripley. Their dresses were of yellow cotton and polyester leno with pink and gold flowers over yellow rayon taffeta. They carried a single pink rose, Steve Fitzpatrick, R. R. 1 Tiv- erton, was gboornsman : The ushers were Ted Reid, Kinloss and Rick Gixoux , Hamilton. The groom and his attendants were attired in black tuxedos, white shirts and black bow-ties. They wore a white carnation on their lapels,. Rev. C. H. Carnochan officiat- ed at the double ring ceremony. Yellow mums decorated the altar. The wedding music was e played by Mrs. Frank Siegel, R. R. 1 Tiverton. The dinner was at 5 o'clock in the church parlors. An open rec- eption followed in the evening in the Huron Township Hall, Ripley. The bride's mother wore a floor- length gown of rose crimpknit with white accessories and a cor- sage of blue feathered carnations. The groom's mother wore a floor-length gown of blue crimp- knit with white accessories: nd a corsage of pink feathered carna- tions. For travelling the bride wore a white and navy ensemble and a corsage of yellow mums. The groom is attending Mc- Master University in Hamilton. Guests attended from Hamilton, Chatham, Burlington, Meaford London, Watford,, Sarnia , Forest , Toronto , Elmira Wingbana, God - erich , gincardine , Tiverton, Lucknow ind Ripley.
