Easter Sunday to complete the
Lenten season.
The Easter message to all
christians is the central point in
the history of mankind. It is the
day of victory over death, through
the resurrection of Christ.
The schedule for Holy Week
was a penitential service On Wed:-
nesday 'evening followed by Mass
of the Eucharist on"Holy Thursday.
Good Friday. services took place
at 3 p:m. on Friday and on East7
er Sunday Mass of the
Resurrection of Christ Was celebrate

Mrs/ David Haldenby was host-,
ess for The Anglican Church Wom-
en's Quiet Day on Thursday after-
noon. Mrs. Gertrude Walsh
presided and read the words of a
hymn and also the EasterAnthern
and WF1comed the visitors. The
hymn' "Breathe on me breath, of
God" was sung followed by praYers
The Epistle for Maundy riursday
was' read 'by Mrs. Jack Scott.. The
secretary, Mrs. Midford 'Wall,
thanked the ladies for the lovely
card which was sent to them on
their wedding anniversary and then
read the minutes ofthe previous
meeting.
The thankoffering for the gest-
etner' amounted to $64.00. The
invitation from the Anglican
Church Women of St. Peters
Church, Lucknow to: attend their
Easter Thankoffering meeting on
April 16th was accepted. The
Diocesan Annual meeting will be
held in London on May 2nd. A
letter of appreciation was read
from Mu. and Mrs. Arthur
Haldenby and a gift enclosed for
the assistance at their 'Golden
Wedding Puncheon. The roll call
was answered with the word "resur-
reetiOn": Mrs, Howard Thompson ,
gave a splendid meditation on
Easter "renewing our faith" and
concluded with a suitable poem.
She also told of an' interesting
conversation that •she had with a
student from India who is attend.;
ing Huron College, London. He
told many interesting things about
the country and its people.
Mrs. Arthur Haldenby and Miss
Edna Boyle then took charge of
the following program. Mis.
Haldenby read "The secret of
living" and "Spring". She also
led in the litany from the Living
Message and prayer. Mrs. Ronald
Thacker also gave a reading from

rable Christ". Mrs. George

Women met on April 9 with thir-.
teen in attendance. Mrs. Frank
McQuillin presided for this EaSter
Thankoffering, the worship ser-
vice prepared by herself and Mrs.
Elwood Barbeitt. A hymn ,Jesus
Keep Me Near the Cross, was foll-
owed by the Lord's prayer in uni-
son. The roll call, "An Eagter
Verse" was well answered.
Mrs. John Cameron read the
scripture and Mrs. Tom Todd the
meditation, "The Message of
the'Flowers". Mrs: Mintz gaVe
a reading entitled "April Springs".
The hymn "Christ the Lord is
Risen To-day" was sung.
Isobel•Miller read, "The Easter
,Message" and Mrs. Lorne Woods,
"His Thirty Years". The offer-
ing was received. '
Mrs. B. F. Green. gave a report
on mission projects' and Mrs. Frank
McQtiillin gave an Easter reading:
The hymn "When .I Survey the.
Wondrous Cross" was sung. Mrs..
B. F. Green offered prayers.
The business part of the meeting
was followed by prayer 'by Mrs:-:
Tom Todd, Isobel Miller present-
ed Mrs. Chas. McDonald with a
gift from the .p.c.w.
Lunch 'was prepared by Mrs.
Chester Nicholson and courtesy
rernarks given by Mrs. 'John Cam-
eron.

Rev. George Garratt Who gave a
full outline of holy week.
Two appropriate hyms were
sung "Sweet the moments rich
in blessing" and "Jesus is stand- ,
.ing in Pilot's hall".

Offering" by the ,Rev,. H. L. Jen-
nings from the Living Message.
A poem ,"I hear thee pass"- was
read by Mrs. Roy Collins, Mrs.
David Haldenby gave "Easter
Morn". Mrs. Midford Wall read'
"What thou hast given".. "Twas
Easter, morning" was given by. Mrs.
Jack Scott. Miss Edna Boyle led .
'in a: special prayer' for this meet-'
ing and for the sick. Cards were,
signed for sick and shut-ins and
Rev Garratt closed the meeting
with the collect for the day and
the Grace was repeat& in unison.
A record of sacred music, given
by Mrs. Bert Nicholson (ending
with the "Old Rugged Cross) made
a fitting conclusion for this Quiet
Day. ".
Miss Edna Boyle thanked Mr.
Garratt for being the speaker 'and
also all whO took part in the pro-
gram and'Mrs. George Graham
thanked the hostess...
Delicious refreshments were
served by the hoStess, assisted by.
Mrs. Bill Halderiby, and Cheryl
Haldenby ,.Mrs. Lloyd Husk and
Mrs. M. Wall. The 'parish mes-
senger" was distributed and .a soc-
ial time was enjoyed. The host-
ess for the May Meeting is ,Mrs, lunch served by the hostess and .dir-

Missionary Society met at the
home of Mrs. Leonard, Clarke on
Wednesday afternoon for their,
Easter Thankoffering meeting. '
They had as their guests, ladies
from Kinlough W. M.S.
Mrs. Bruce Hamilton opened
the meeting with, an Easter verse.
"Ride ,on, ride on in Majesty" was
sung and scripture was read by. Mrs.
Douglas Graham. Mrs. Gilbert
Hamilton offered prayer and Mrs.
Evan Keith gave an Easter
meditation. Mrs. Lorne Sparks
sang:" When 1 Survey the Wond
