Kairshea Women's Institute met
on February 21st at the home of
Mrs. Harvey Houston. Mrs, Clar-
ence Ritchie presided and wel-.

Roulston read the Scripture. The
Sunshine Committee reported gifts
were given to patients in kairshea

Snowy Owl read a short, story
about our founder Lord Baden
Powell. Tawny Owl told about
where the pennies go that we
collect on Thinking Day. The
Brownies then put•their pennies in
a treasure chest with wings, as
this money goes to help Brownies
around the world. A candle was
lit in the middle of the cake to
remember Lord and Lady Baden
Powell's birthdays on February
22nd. Everyone then enjoyed a
piece of cake.
The meeting was brought to a
close with a prayer that the.
Brownies in Netherlands use as a
closing.

Mrs. Cliff Rotilston presided for
the program. Hymn of All Nat-
ions was sung and Mrs. RouNton
read a poem "Life Is Like A Jour-
ney". Mrs. Allister Hughes intro-
duced Misi Ruth Thompson who'
gave a very interesting account of
a recent trip to Russia . Mrs. LeOn-
ard Clarke played some Russian
music. Mrs. Frank MacKenzie
and Mrs. Cliff Roulston assisted
Mrs. Nonstop in serving a Russian
luncheon of dark break, strogan-
off, salad and cookies.

The next meeting will, be at the
home of Mrs. Cordon Wall, Wing-
ham on March 21st.

Mid-term examinations at
F. E, Madill Secondary School
will be written from April 4th to
April 11th inclusive. Secondary
School will be completed on June
14th.' There will be no compulsory
final examinations for students
this year. However , any student
who has an average of below 500/o
in any subject would be advised to
write an examination in order to
bring the average up to a passing
mark. These examinations will ,be
written after June 14th..

Irwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Irwin, Huron Township, a grade
11 student at F. E. Madill
School with no fee for the
remainder of the school year. He
has been living with his grand-
parents.

ich Recreation and •Community
Centre Board on the sale or lease
of approxit,nately 10 acres of land
(owned by the Board of Education)
