Curling News by Don McLay Humphrey'5 rink of Doug. MacDonald of Mississauga , Elmer COurtney. and Hairy Scott won the annual Ripley-Huron Legion reunion bonspiel on Saturday . This annual event is always held' on the third Saturday in February. Bill Danforth's rink took second place , with Russell Stanley and Orah Crawford in third and fourth spots , respectively. Consolation entries were skipped by Ray Coll- inls and Bill Tranter. Lloyd Wylds 'Sports. Officer for Branch 440, was in charge and assisted by Sandy', MacCharles and Don McLay. The curling ladies and the Auxiliary supplied a bounteous repast for lunch at the rink and dinner at the Legion Hall: -o0o- -A most, successful Jitney was held at the Club on Sunday even- ing , arranged by club presidents Sandy MacCharles and Joyce Courtney. Forty-eight curlers took part with the double rink of Wray Osborne and 'Harry Scott taking the-top prize. Second• went to the Midge Funston-Carrick Coiling entry Other participating skip combinations in order of their finish, were: Bonnie Nichol- son - Jean Wylds , Charles Liddle- Nancy Fitzgerald Ursula Burnett- Carl Funston and Joyce. Courtney' Gordon Roulston. Each rink play- ed seven ends, in two stages , and each end included some prearran- ged novelty feature.
