The committee decided against
engaging the services of Sparky
Weiler of Walkerton as a
promotional and program,
director. He had earlier spoken
to a group of local people and
made his services available at a
fee of $1000.
The committee- has created a
slogan for the.event. Lucknow •
Reunion, 71.,et!s. Roar in 74", has.
been set as a theme for the July.
1st week end.
As a means of raising some
money fOr the Reunion, the com-
mittee decided to sell tickets on a
draw which will,offer as prizes a
trip for 2 to the Bahamas as. first
prize and a colour portable TV as
second. These tickets will be
available within a week.
Entertainment, bands and mid-
way are to be booked early and
work has started on this.'
An appeal for Volunteer Workers
in last week's paper brought a
response from some individuals
and groups. The Town and
Country. Club of Lucknow and the
Lucknow Women's Institute offer-
ed' their services as a group.
Contact was to be made with
members of the Lucknow. Pipe
Band to see if they would be int-
erested in, regrouping for the week
end.

THAT Ross Paterson of Kapuskaa-
ing has been appointed by coun-
cil in that c'om'munity to fill
a one year council vacancy caus-
ed by a resignation. Mr. Pater
son was a former councillor and
unsuccessfully ran for the
position.of mayor in 197.. He
attended school in Lucknow as a
child and his father Archie Pat-
erson was a former blacksmith
and theatre operator in Lucknow.
