Presidents Sandy MacCharles
and John Matheson have announc-
ed the results of the first day's
curling for the Harrison Trophy.
Kincardine will take a 23-
point lead into the final day , at
Kincardine , this coming Saturday..
Top rink on the early draw was
that of Elmer and Joyce Courtney,
teamed up with Clarence and Lois
Polloak. Second place went to
the Elliott rink of Ripley, with
Jim and daughter Karen, curling
with Bert and his wife Marjorie.
Third and fourth place finishes•
were recorded by the Jack Pym
and John Matheson's Kincardine
entries, respectively. Other
skips, on the early draw, were
those of Morris Mahood and
Howard Hodge.
Taking first place on the late
draw , and top winner of the day,
was Ray Kester's rink from Kincar
dine, curling with his wife, and
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Taylor. Second
place went to Cam, Wilson's four-
some, curling with wife, Norva ,
and Mr. •and Mrs. Ron Slade.
Third place was taken by the
pseudo-Kincardine rink, compris-
ed Of Reid Liddle, Jean.Scott,.
Brian MacDonald and Gayle Hus-
ton , all of Ripley. Fourth, fifth
and sixth place finishers were
Harry Coiling., Bob Lyons and Jim

Hockey Saturday
Three games were played in
house league hockey on January
2,6. In the first game the Blades
defeated the Sharks by a score of
5 to 1. Meikel Becker and Wayne
Bell `each Scored twice for the
Blades and David Atkinson snored
once. Michael McDonagh scored
for the Sharks..
In the second game the Whalers
beat the Jets by the score of 5 to
2. Tom Park scored three times
and Allan Stanley and Richard Jur-
jens each scored once for the
winners. Michael Whitcroft scored
both goals for the Jets .
In the final game the Crusaders
defeated the Toros by the 'score
of 4 to 2. Tom Sinnett scored
three and Jim Smith scored once
for the Crusaders. Ken Atkinson
and Jdhn Husk scored for the Toros:

Clarke 1. Assists went to David

On January 18, Lucknow Lassies
played Lucknow Atoms with the
score Atoms 5 ,, Lassies 1. Goal
scorers for Atoms were Allan
Eadie 2, Kent Alton 1, Glen
Raynard 1 and'Don Greer 1. Assists
went to Brian Murray 1., Brian

On Thursday night in Belgrave
the boys played to a 2-2 tie with

On Saturday night the Fleas

spree of the year defeating Tees-
water 10-3. Grant Murray led. the
LucknOw scorers with 3 goals.
Wayne Phillips, Ken Irwin and
George Alton scored 2 each with a
single going to Paul MacIntyre,
On Monday night Blyth defeat-
ed Lucknow by a 2 - margin.
Paul Jerome came up with his best
game of the season in the Lucknow
net and 'Ken Irwin scored the
single Lucknow goal.

they attended the funeral of the
late Mrs. Lutiness mother-in=law
of their. grandson, Howard Bennett

the Anglican Services will be at
Ripley , Bervie and Lucknow and
the. Vestry Meeting for Kinlough'
will be held this Thursday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Hod'gins
of London spent the week end
with her parents Mr. and Mrs.
Mark Johnston of Lucknow. Mark
has not been as. well as his many
friends would like to see him.
