That the Annual Meeting of the producer members of the
BRUCE COUNTY PORK PRODUCERS Association will be held
Tuesday, February 12th 1974
in Formoia Community Centre Formosa cornmencintat 1:15 p.m:
Asiociation directors, delegates and alternate delegates to the.
Ontario Pork Producers Marketing Board shall be elected and
an amendment to the By-Laws in respeet to nuMber of Council-,
men to' comply with provincial regulations will be dealt with.
Between the hours of 2:00 and 3:00 P.M. nominations and
elections shall be held foe Councilmen to the Ontario Pork Pro.
duifirs Marketing Board who shall hold office for a three year.

Carruthers Nursing Home would

church groiips and leaders, guides,
young people's' groups and all the
individuals who brought entertain-
ment and gifts , to the residents
and helped make the Christmas
season a happy one. It was very
much appreciated. • ,

those' who remembered him with
cards and visits while a patient in
Wingham and London Hospitals;
also thanks to. Drs. Corrin and Mc-
Kim and the nurses at Wingham'
Hospital.
DUNGANNON
Several minor accidents have
happened recently , due no doubt
to icy road conditions Which did
not clear as quickly •in village or
town as on the highways.'
There are several residents, who
although not, in hospital, are not
enjoying the best of health, and
to them we .wish a , speedy return to
good health.
For several days spring-tike
weather-has prevailed, but per-
haps by the time you are reading
this the January-February typical
weather may have returned.
High winds on Saturday night caus-
ed hydro interruptions.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Pentland
and Lori spent the week end in
London.with Mr. and Mrs. Benson
Pentland and family.
Mrs. Lorne Eadie and daughter
Maly of Holyrood visited Mrs. J.
M. Reed and Girvin Reed on. Sun- •
day.
Barbara Blake and Damon Web-
ster e. from Toronto were at the
former's home for the week end.
Eedy's Bakeshop in Dungannon
will be closed for• two weeks allow-
ing all Workers to have holidays.
Mr.' and Mts. Irvine Eedy plan
to have visits in Kitchener and
Mississauga with members of their
family.' Martha Eedy from London
assists each' Saturday in the bake-
shop. Eedy's store will be open
as usual during these two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Sherwood
attended the funeral of Mrs. James
Barbour, (formerly Ida. SherwOod) ,
in London on Wednesday. They
were accompanied by Mr. and
Mrs. Wilfred Drennan of Luc know.
Jamie Bere , Duane and Marty
Rivett who play hockey with the
Luclatow Fleas report a decided
win on Saturday playing against
the Teeswater team - 10-3 or was
it 4?
In the picuires •of winners in
Goderich curling,clubs are Ivan
Rivett and also Mrs. Ross Eedy,
from our area, And then there
are winners from here reported in
the Sentinel bowling news. For
others there are local card parties;,
all help to shorten the winter.

,Died In Alberta
MRS., ED WEBSTER
Mrs.' Ed (Annie) Webster , a
long.time resident of the Big
Valley district, Alberta, passed'
away at the Stealer General-Hos-
pital on December 31, 1973 at the
age of 84 years.
Mrs. Webster was born in Madi-
son, South Dakota, U.S.A. on
December 8 , 1889. She moved
to tees p Alberta in 1908 and resid
ed in that district until her mar-:
riage on February 13, 1913 to Mr.
Joseph Daniel Edward Webster.
She had made her home in the Big
Valley district since that time.
She leaves to mourn her passing
three sons Bruce , Lloyd and Jack
all of Big-Valley; one' daughter
Doreen. Toker' of Canmore; eleven
grandchildren and twelve great-
grandchildren as well is a host of
friends. 'Mrs. Webster was, pre-
deceased by her husband Edward
on October 4, 1960 and her daugh-
ter Thelma Wallace in July 1961.
Funeral services were held at
the Big Valley United Church on
Friday , January 4th at t 30 p.m.
with Rev. Alan J. Smith officiat-
ing. Interment followed at the
Lake View Cemetery in Stettler,
Alberti.
Ed Webster was the son of D. •
K. Webster, and his wife Martha.
Mallough. Their home was just
west of Lucknow , now owned by
Russel Button.

activity this week was the public
speaking contest which was held
on Friday, January 25.', Out of the
seventeen "contestants; who' spoke ,,
four winners were chosen. The

The judges for our contest were
Mrs. Alex, Andrew, Mrs. Evan
Keith and Rev. Glenn Noble. We
would like to thank these three
people for taking time out to
attend our contest.
SPORTS ,
The boys are busy playing floor
hockey at noon hour. The junior
boys are starting playoffs the be-
ginning of this week.
The girls border ball games are
now in full swing.
OPEN AREA
This week the grade four class
began doing projects on transporta•
tion and travel. In addition', they
have been working on their speech,
es during the week.
