Plans for an area laboratory to
be estatlished in,Ripley in the
new Ripley andliistrict Medical
Centre , which have been in the
dismission and planning stages f9r
some time, will be presented to
the public next Monday night at
8.30 p:m. when members of the
Community Development _Group
will meet in St. Andrews Church
in Ripley to hear the proposal

Shortly before 11 a .m • a battery
in a tractor, being overhauled blew
up and the machine caught fire.
Owners of the business,. John and
Eugene Pritchard were unsuccess-
ful in their attempts to tow the
tractor out of the building with a
wrecker when it became jammed
up against the doors.
Several minutes later , the. gas
tank exploded and fire spread to
the ceiling of the garage. A hole
was torn into the roof to get at
the blaze.
