A passenger, Robert White , age. 19, his brother, was treated .for shock and releas- ed. Joanne Vienneau , age 17, Wingham daughter. of Joseph , Vienneau, was treated for shock and contusions and admitted to hospital. Tammy Vienneau, age 14 ;her sister, received back and head injuries and was admitted to hospital. Investigated by Wing- ham 0..P. P. Mrs. Sharon Vienneau, Bluevale fell off a tobbogan by the bridge at Bluevale January 1 and receiv- ed a compound fracture to .her right wrist. Mrs. Marjorie Moffatt , age 33.,' 451 Caesar Avenue , Oakville , Ontario, was driver of her car which skidded on ice and rolled over in a ditch two miles West of Littowel on Highway 86. She received injuries to her left :shoulder., Listowel.O.P.P. invest- igated. Passengers in car daugh- ter Julia ; age 3, .was treated for shock and released; daughter ' Kendra , age '2, was treated for shock and released. David Campbell, age 18, Blue- vale , was driver of a.car which was in collision with a truck on January 2. Russel was born in Ashfield in, t e Zion area , a son of Andrew .Ritchie and Helen Hunter. 'At one time Russel and his, brother Alfred were draymen for Lucknow. When they /sold out Russel went to Saskatchewan where he started, farming. ,On March 19, 1928 he married Marguerite Tiffin at Moosejavv. They farm- ed until the blowing dust drove them back to Ontario where they farmed in Huron and Kinloss Towriships until they sold the farm at Langsble and moved to Whitechurch. Russel is survived by his brothers Leslie of Lucknow and Chester of Detroit. He was predeceased by his sister Janet (Mrs. Twarnley), brothers Robert', Will, Jim, Gordon and Alfred. Funeral service was held at MacKenziP Memorial Chaper, Lucknow on Monday , December 17 with temp= •orary entombment at South. Kin- loss Mausoleum. . Mr. Larry King ., student minist-. er of. Whitechurch United Church was minister. • ' Pallbearers were Russel Proctor Fred Fell, Albert Coultes, Alvin Ritchie, Harold Ritchie,and Dave MacDonald. • Flower bearers were Elmer' Wall and Don Hayes. Friends and relatives were pres- ent from Sarnia, Woodstock, London,, Detroit, Teeswater , Molesworth , Dungannon, Brussels', Lucknow. • South bound on Concession C. Campbell was admitted via am- bulance in critical condition, giv- en emergency treatment and then transferred to Victoria Hospital. He died later in the week. Pass- enger in the car was brother Brad- ley , age 7 , who was admitted to hospital suffering from shock and contusions. Investigated by Wingham 0.P.P. McKittrick and Cpl. croskill. The toboggan apparently struck a tree on the home faim. • Michael Pentland, age 4, DUn- .gannon , was a passenger on his father's snowmobile which'struck a bump January, 6. Michael re- ceived a laceration to his fore- head: "-Investigated by Goderich O.P.P. ' John Parks, Dungannon, was thrown off' his snowmobile January 6 and fell approximately four feet .into a dry river bed landing on his shoulder. The accident happened approximately three miles from his hdnie_in Ashfield Township, He was released after treatment. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Kil- patrick, Mrs. Atkinson of Wingham; Mr. and Mrs. Omar Brooks of Lucknow and Mr. and' Mrs. Palmer Kilpatrick of Agin- court visited at the home of Mrs. Blake. Gerald Bere has returned for his second, term to Fapshawe' College , London. beginning January 7. 'His first term was quite 'successful. • Misi Martha Eedy has gone to London for a nine months course through Victoria. Hospital for R.N. A. training - Registered Nurses Assistant.., The course begins Monday , January 7. Best wishes', Martha. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bailie from Oak Lake, Manitoba, flew east to attend the funeral of the latter's Uncle Mr. David McAllist- er , at LiicknOw on Wednesday. They spent a few days visiting other relatives and friends but had to return home on Saturday. Jim Little passed away Friday evening ,in Wingham and District Hospital in his 76th year'. The sympathy of neighbours and friends here is extended to each of the members of his family. MRS; DONALD BEATON The death of Mrs. Donald Beaton, the former Margaret Graham, occurred, at her resid • - ence in Vancouver on December 11, 1973. She was the second eldest daughter of the late Mary MacKenzie and John Graham 4th Concession Kinloss pioneers and was in. her 97th year. Her nephew., Allan Graham , R. R. 5 Lucknow, resides on the farrn where she Was born, • ' Her husband , Donald Beaton, was also born in the Lucknow vicinity and after their marriage they went West and homesteaded at. Lougheed , Alberta. They farmed there until retiring to Vanccuver in 1945. Mrs. Beaton was predeceased by her husband and two daughters., Three daughters and a son, all' living in the Vancouver area , survive. Of a family of nine , • her sister , Nellie, (Mrs. D. B. Annis) also of Vancouver is the last surviving member. Funeral service' and interment was held, in Vancouver , December 14 1973. • SOUTH KINLOSS Allan Maclntyre is a patient in- University Hospital, London. His family and Donald and Mary Mac- Intyre visited with him on Sunday. David McAllister passed away on Saturday, December 29, 1973 , ,at Lncknow Pinecrest Manor in his 92nd year. He had, been a resident of the 6th concession of West Wawa nosh all his life, until going to Lucknow two yeari ago. Visitors during, the holiday season with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Johnston included Mr. and ,Mrs . Harold (johnston and family from • \,,PAGE ,.NINETEEN foster homes to a Christmas turk- ey dinner in a restaurant. This 'year resulted in an anxious time for all when they became ill due to food poisoning, but all recov- ered. Such'kindness brings to mind that this 'is the man who has devoted years td the study and research in Atomic energy follow- ing the death of his father (due to cancer) in December, 1944. Roy was aschplarship winner at 'Goderich High School and went on to University. He is now vice- president of Atomic Energy at Ottawa; and his sister, Mrs. Lillian MacDonald says he is, nick-named" the "Spark-plug"'of Atomic energy.
