Accompaning the children were their leaders, Mrs. Jack McGuire and Mrs. Oscar White , also Mrs. Ray Hamilton, Mrs. Rod Mac- Donald and Rev, and Mrs. Cecil Carnochan who played for them on guitar and piano accordian. Later the children entertained their parents and friends back at the church where lunch was serv- ed. Miss Joanne Hamilton of Lon- don is home for the holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hamilton. Joanne is attending teachers college. Visiting with Mr and Mrs. Robert Osborne and family and Mrs. Elmer Osborne on Snnday. were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Penning- ton and children of Teeswater.. Mrs. Elmer Osborne and Mrs. Orval Finlayson attended the Happy Hearts Senior Citizens ,ChristMas party "in the, Lesion Hall, Ripley last Friday. Several from this community. attended the Pot Luck Supper and Sunday School concert on Sunday evening at the-St. Andrews United Church, Ripley. • Visiting on Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Oscar White were Mr., and Mrs. Bert. White and family of Birr , and Mr, Mahendra Jain of Ingersoll. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hamilton and Jennifer of Hanover visited on Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs.: Ray HaMilton and family and Mrs.' W. R. Hamilton, Walkerton Urges Hanover Merger The municipal reorganization Committee of Walkerton town council has proposed to Hanover that the two towns'amalgamate. Hanovex has initiated action to secede from Grey County becanse the town feels it is not getting value for the amount it contrib- utes to county funds. Hanover is juSt east of the Bruce.TGrey county border, six miles from Walkerton which is in Bruce. Walkerton Deputy Reeve Owen King, a committee member , said at a Walkerton council meeting that moves to combine municip- alitiei must come from the top.. The real problem in Bruce is that small municipalities will•not give up their autonomy. "Rural reeves won't vote them- selves but of the system," said conirnittee menter Coun. Clar= ence Schmalz, He said county council will not take action until it is forced to.
