HAVEN NEWS

A programme was planned by
the Kinettes on November 1st:
The children from Walkerton Pub-
lic, School came, and we all gath-
ered in the auditorium. There
were 25 in number and playing
musical instruments. The leaders
were Mr's. Ron Lobsinger and Mrs. •
Douglas Smith. This was a real
pleasure to us all. The Kinettes
distributed• assorted fruits and
Ontario apples to all.
Mrs: Burt celebrated her 90th
birthday with her family in the
Library.
The Salvation Army sponsored
a 'movie on November 10 - 'Com-
edy "The Old Lady" then "The
Little Drummer Bby". This was a
pleasure to us in the Golden Age.
On November 14 a Euchre' •
party was held , assisted by the
Catholic Women's League.
Priies were given and lunch serv-
ed in the Tuck Shop area.,
Rev. and Mrs. Lake of Mildmay
visited the elderly in Brucelea.
The' many Kincardine residents
were happy to meet their former
minister.
Mr. and Mrs. Burt celebrated.
their 63rd wedding anniversary on
November, 15th in the auditorium ,
with over 50 residents attending.
One huge candle burned on the
beautifully decorated table, while
,Don Moore spoke and took pic—
tures. The delicious cake was cut
by Mrs.' Burt and we.all enjoyed
it.. Tea was served to all present.
The residents were delighted to
see Dr'. Robinson visiting in, the
Home after his illness. '
The Social Workers of Sacred
Heart School have been assisting
with bingos, closing with tea and
cookies.
'The Gideons had a prayer, ser7.
vice on November 13th. Then
slides were shown of Siere Leone
by Mr. D. Pleitsed, a missionary
on fUrlough;from South Africa ,
some showing the breaking of the
soil With a tractor.. There was
real beauty on the roadside with
wild flowers.

On November 19th the Hartley
Hotel sponsored a Smorgasbord
dinner for the residents at the
Hartley Hotel assisted 'by the Rot -:
ary Club. This was a real treat ,
followed by'a band concert and
square dancing, with anything,
you wished as a beverage, at the
newly renovated Central Hotel.
Then a bus trip home closed a
perfect day.
People of BruCelea are grate-
'ful for the services in the Chapel. -
