China Painting Display At Ripley Open House at Ripley High School was held on Saturday; Dec- ember 15 for the China Painting displays. Many fine pieces of china were set up by the .class. A bake sale was held and a draw for a China plate, painted by the teacher, was held in conjunction with Open House. Mrs. Frank Scott won the plate. The response from the public school students involved was tremendous • and the suggestions were all most interesting and appealing. Although it was/a most difficult decision the Authority Members eventually decided- on the follow- ing finalists: First Prize ($15) - "WawanOsh Valley Conservation Area" sub- mitted by Kim McDowell, R. R. 1 Belgrave. Second Prize ($10) - "Mait-E- Waw Wildlife.Preserve" submitt- ed by Sharon Carter, R. R. 3 Blyth. Third Prize ($10) - "Maitland Bend Conservation Area" submitt- ed by Dianne Scott, Belgrave. The property will therefore be called the "Wawanosh Valley Con- servation Area" and the approp- date prizes will be sent to the three finalists listed above..
