Level* I, II, III BROOKSIDE HAPPENINGS BROOKSIDE HOCKEY Two games were played in the' Brookside Hockey League since the last news report. In the game played on December 5 , the' Bears defeated the Chargers by a' score of 6 to 1. On Wednesday, December 12 the Bears met the Cougars in a hard 7-fought game. The cougars were' leading 4 - 3 with one min- ute and 10 second left when the hydro went off in the, arena. The remaining time will be played when these two teams meet again. VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT Although our teams did. not do well. at Wingham on Saturday, the students enjoyed the day. 1, Someone has to lose and it happened to be us. The Dungannon C.G.I.T. group plan to have a Christmas Eve Vesper Service, Monday, at the church. All are welcome to attend. The Sunday School Christmas dinner was well attended on Fri- day evening and all enjoyed a bountiful meal, which was follow- ed by a brief filni,"The 'Littlest Camel" and singing of Christmas carols. Greetings and apprecia- tion were expressed by Rev. C. McClenaghan, Frank Pentland and Wayne Snyder. Mr. and Mrs. George Ribey and daughters, Catharine and Anne of Seaforth visited on Sun- day with- Mr. and .Mrs. Wm. Wig gins. We are pleased to know that Mrs. Orrie Gingrich is home again from hospital. She had been in- jured in an unusual accident when slush from a pasSing truck obstruct- ed her view and her station wagon Went into the ditch on highway 21, near Sheppardtbn. Errington returned to Room 10, 'he discovered that the gerbils had all escaped. The following are two versions of their escapades. THE ESCAPE By Brian Johnston It was on Friday night when we escaped. We went to the gym and played floor hockey. It 'was two o'clock Saturday morning. Then we played murder ball. • After the game Dick died because somebody hit the ball. The 'ball hit Dick and killed him. Then Gary started to cry. Then Gary and I played pin-pong. It was three o'clock in the morning. Then I was thinking about Dick dying. Then Gary said it was a• bloody shame because his heart burst . Then we wrote in Mr. Errington's books. Then it was Sunday: Then we went tb Sunday School and made use of the New Testaments. Then I went and , chewed the piano keys. -Then I went into the Stockroom, and chew ied some paper and took it back to the class room and put it in Brian Hackett's teepee, then had a nap. We stole ,a Car from, the bulletin board and had a joy ride. On Monday we were all recaptyred. gnawed for an hour. Then Patti gnawed a while and she chewed it just about through. I finally finished it. At, last , we're' free! We jumped down off the counter. We ran down to room 7, that is' the art room. We chewed paper for along time. Then I thought I would go to the library to read some books. Then Patti thought • she would go to the kitchen and find something to eat. Darryl and Mark thought they would go tc the office. They found a pencil on the floor and chewed it' to pieces.. Then Darryl and 'Mark went to the acquarium to look at the fish but instead they were cap- tured on Monday. Then Patti went to Room 12. She went in a gym bag. On Monday, Doug Blake discovered her. There was only me, left , so I said I would go to see the others. I• go to the kitchen and to the office every . night.
