On Tuesday of last weelethe

ced the resignation of board mem-
ber Leonard Courtney of Amber-
* ley. Leonard .-who represented
Huron' Township' and the Village
of Ripley, since the board was
formed in 1969, was recently ap7

High School there was the regular
monthly meeting of the Ripley
Agricultural Society and there
was activity at the Ripley Curling
Arena. On Tuesday evening the
Ripley village council held its -

John. James. Emmerton who was
born in Huron Township on June
29, 1889, passed away at Enicelea
Haven in Walkerton on Monday,
December 3 in his 85th year.
Sympathy of the people of this
area goes to his wife , his son Ches-
ter and all family relatives. The
funeral service was held at the Mc
Lennan-McCreath Home and it ••
was conducted by the minister ,
Rev. John King of Kincardine , last
Thursday afternoon, A special
service was conducted on Wednes-
day evening at the funeral home

Orange Lodge.. Interment was in
Ripley Cemetery. •

President Hugh 'Mason was in
charge , of the meeting of the dir-
ectors and executive of the . Ripley
Agricultural' Society meeting last
week. Among those present were
Hamilton MacKinnon, Jim
Brooks Mr. and Mrs. Russ Brooks,
Mrs., Howard Thompson,, Lester
Ferguson, Bob Rutledge , Francis
Boyle, Reg Moore and Ab•Wylds.
It is planned to hold the annual
meeting on the second Monday.

attended the annual Santa Claus
parade in the neighbouring town
of Kincardine last Saturday after-
noon, The parade was led by the
Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band'.
