Mr. 'and Mrs. John McCormack
and members of their family from
Barrie were here for the week end
and attended •the Stanley-Elliott
reception and dance on Saturday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Murray
visited,last week with Mi. and
Mrs. Lorne Kraemer and family
at Rexdale and with Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Dales and family, at Smith
Falls.
Members, of the Holyrood Wom-
en's Institute attended the course
"Baked in a pie" , which was held
on Tuesday at the hail. Mrs; Ger-
ald Rhody. and Mrs. Wayne Rhody
were leaders.
The Anglican Services on Sun-
day will be in Ripley, Bervie and
Lucknow.
Mr, and Mrs. Frank Maulden
visited' on Thursday with their •
uncle Rev. Andrew Lane at God-
erich.
Mrs. Gerald Rhody will be host-
ess to the Holyrood Women's Insti-
tute 'on Thursday , December 6th
for the Christmas meeting. Spec-
ial Christmas program and current

Mr, and Mrs. Grant Eckenswil-'
ler were honoured at a family
dinner Friday evening at the
home of their daughter arid son-
in-law Brenda and Bernard Camp-
bell. They were presented with
a steam iron.

Died At Age 72.
JAMES H. SMITH
James Henry Smith of Holyrood
passed away in Wingham and
District Hospital on Friday, Nov-
ember 16th.
Mr. Smith, who spent his life-
time at fanning, was a son of
Charles Smith and Rhoda COttrill.
He was born in Bruce Township on
April 22nd , 1901.
On May 12, 1934 he married
Jean Donaldson of Culross Town-
ship. Her death occurred sudden-
ly in May of this year.
Mr. Smith is survived by four
sons Donald James of Scarborough,
Douglas Ralph of Kitchener, Har-,,
Old Clifford of Holyrood, Robert
Wayne of NOrth Bay and nine'
grandchildren; also one sister Mr's.
Dan (Elizabeth) McFadyen, of
Tiverton and two brothers, Wil-
liam of Glammis and Clifford of
Port Elgin.
The funeral service was held
at MacKenzie Memorial Chapel.,
Lucknow on Sunday , November
18th. Rev. George Garratt , min-
ister at 'Kinlough Anglican Church,
of which the deceased was a mem-
ber, conducted the service. , '
' Flower bearer was Doug Donald-
;on. •
Pallbearers were Harold Hamp-
:on, Loran Peters Bruce Smith,
Gordon Donaldson, Max Bushell,
Gerald Murray.
' rnterrnent was in Teeswater
Cemetery.

Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. George Stanley (Linda
Elliott), who were married on
Saturday.-
Mrs. George Emerson visited ,•
her mother Mrs. Bell at Wiarton
last week end. Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Fair were with Marion and
visited Frank's sister Mrs. Need-
ham to help her celebrate her
86th birthday..
Mrs. William McInnes, Dianne
and ,Karen and little Stephanie
King of Teeswater visited in Pur-
ple Grove on Wednesday. Largar-
et arid Karen visited Mrs. Bob •
Thompson and Robbie, while
Dianne and ,Stephanie stopped off
with Cathy Dore.
T.P.R. Carter Storgard , broth-
er of Judy Thompson, has been
posted overseas. Carter, who has
been with the armed forces for
,the past few years,,was posted at
C.F.B. EdmOnton up until now.
Mr: and Mrs. Don Robertson ,
visited recently in Brantford with
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence MacDon-
ald.
'Dinner guests on Sunday of Mrs.
Claude Dore Sr. of Bervie were
Miss Myrie Stewart of Walkerton,
who was visiting for the week end
Cecil Dore and Mr. and Mrs. Don
Dore , Vicki and Frankie.
Folks will be sorry to hear Mrs.
Ralph Hill of Walkerton and form-
erly of Purple Grove is a patient
in Walkerton Hospital.
Mrs. Kenny Wylds and little
Melony of Lucknow , Mrs. M.
Levesque of Ripley and William
Wood of Durham were recent visit-
ors with Mr. and Mrs. Don Dore.
More changes on the twelfth
concession -are; the new brick sid-
ing on Stewart Lane's house mak-
ing it very majestic looking,
while the home of Don Dore, is
sporting new windows. ,
Mrs. George Harkness entertain-
ed ladies at'a liquid embroidery
party on Saturday.
