POLICE VISIT
. Constable W. Moulton visited
our school to discuss bus safety.
Some slide clearly indicated the

with noise or other actions such
as standing up, etc,
2. Leave yourself enough time
to get to the bus. This will help,
avoid accidents. Safety takes
time. •
3. Lights on school bus .are there
as a help. Students must not
depend entirely on these lights as
they are only a help.
4. Wait until bus has stopped.

REMEMBRANCE DAY ASSEMBLY
On Friday, November 9, a Re-
membrance Day Assembly was
held. The Assembly opened. with
Grade Room 8 singing, The
Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Readings were presented by
Annette Elphick and Greg Gunby.
AMBERLEY NEWS
The film, Beyond the Beaches,
which told of the invasion of
France by' our soldiers was present-
ed,
A trio , Barbara Aitchison, Lynn
Anderson and Pcencla Taylor sang
Cruel War and Mr. Black led in
singing, to songs: •

assembly to a close.
SCHOOL HOCKEY
Brookside School Hockey
League has been organized by Mr.
Errington and the draft took
place as usual. From the 49
pupils who registered for hockey,
four 'teams have been formed.
The Chargers Shane Purdon,
captain; Golden Bears, Alex'
Irvin , captain; Cougars , Hugh .
Burgsma ', captain; Comets , David
Errington captain. Each team is
coached by a teacher and the
games are played every Wednes-
day at Lucknow arena,
Excitement is running high
these days at Brookside -.mostly
verbal 7 concerning who will be
the Hockey Champs for 73-74. ,
Only one•game has been played
so far and the Chargers , led by
Shane Purdon, were extremely
fortunate to take the , measure of
Hugh 'Burgsma's Cougars by a 3 to
2 margin. David Miller, Doug
Dougherty and Stephen Pritchard
scored for the Chargers while Greg
Schultz. and-Hugh Burgsma dented
the twine 'of their opponents.
Next game is scheduled' for
Tuesday;
