BROWNIE NEWS The-Brownies opened their meet- ing on Tuesday, November 13th with EtrOwnie Ring, Judy Hunter was our' Fairy (Neen, and she set up the Toadstool. Tawny Owl did inspection for clean hands and, the Brownies hopped their Brownie Gold.,' We closed Brownie--king with the. Brownie Prayer. • At Pow Wow Snowy Owl talked abotit the Brownie Sign and Hand- shake. Jtidy Hunter showed the three things she had made for her Toymaker Badge and she also had her collection of leaves for her Collector Badge, Elizabeth Wilkins had with,her the six • books she,had read for the Boolk Lover Badge. Tawny Owl then went over the requirements for the Canada Badge, as this is a new badge for Brownies to work for. We then had a game "Curious Traveller" , this game is to' help the Brownies learn different dir- ectiOns. At work period ten Tweenies passed their test , for tying 'a Brownie tie. Anne Hamilton Polished a pair of shoes to com- plete her Golden Bar work. Tawny Owl prese nted Anne with her GOlden Bar. The meeting was brought• to a close with the Squeeze and Taps. Ashfield Mrs. Henry 'MacKenzie was hostess for the Ashfield W, November meeting. The meeting opened with the'singing Of the 1st verse of 0 Canada, followed by a prayer by Mrs. Henry MacKenzie, "Flanders Fields" was read by Mrs. Lloyd Collins followed by two verses of Hymn 644 and the repeating of the W. M.S. purpose. Devotion was given by Mrs. Warren Wylds taken from Luke and Mrs. Wylds led in pray- er. Roll call was answered by 12 members and 3 visitors -, naming a former Prime Minister and num- ber of years in office. • Hymn 374' was sung. /Mrs. Bill. Ross introduced the guest speaker Mrs. Hummel of Lucknow , who had spent her first 19 years in China. Mrs. Hum- mel had some ancient Chinese costumes with her and while she was having the ladies model the clothes, she told the story about eacl garment , which was very interesting. Mrs. Lloyd Collins thanked Mrs. Hummel. The offertory prayer was given by Mrs. Henry MacKenzie. Business was then conducted followed by Hymn 494. Clsoing prayer was given by Mrs. MacKenzie.. Tb pres- ident Jack Whytock opened the meeting and gave the call to wor- ship. The theme of the meeting was Sharing with Others. Scripture lessons were, read by Debbie ,Hick- ey and Kenneth Quipp. Mrs. George Thompson leader , led in prayer. Mrs. Ivan Laidlaw leader, gave a story of Dr.. George Darby and members of the messengers joined , in reading 'parts of the story. Mrs. Millah Moore gave a short talk on Indian Symbols. Mrs. Thompson had some Indian article to show. The offering was received by Cindy Moore and Calvin Quipp and offering prayer given by Kay Wilkens. The minutes were read by secretary ,Ken Quipp, who also called the roll: The meeting closed with .all repeating the' Miz'pah Benediction. Chalmers C.O.C. WHITECHURCH NEWS Chalmers C.0,C. met on Sun- day in The Sunday School room during church service with their leaders, Mrs. Hugh Simpson and Mrs. Archie Purdon, • The president Lori Purdon open- ed with the poem In Flanders Field. The C.O.C. hymn was then sung: Rhonda Gibson read the scripture. Prayer was given by Kendra Purdon. The minutes were read by Stephen Irwin in the 'absence of secretary Donald de Boer. The roll call, a verse with the word . Remember , was answered by 9 attendees. Donald Irwin received the offering. David Ross gave the offering prayer. • Mrs. Hugh Simpson gave the senior stories, Reflected Glory and Jesus Tiiumphal Entry. Mrs. Archie Purdon, gave the junior story_John and Dorothy. Meet a Giant.. A contest was held. The meeting closed' with the sing- ing of the prayer,. • •ro Pine River UCW • AMBERLEY NEWS Mrs. Bob Rutledge opened the U.C. W.' meeting November 13' which had a good attendance. Mrs. Lester Ferguson, Mrs. Car- rick Coiling and Mrs. John Fer- guson presented a short play "Jacobs Well" which was much enjoyed-. All sang "Springs of Living Water". Prayer followed by Mrs. John Ferguson. Certificates were received by Mary Farrell, Christie Messenger, Helen Kempton and Lisa Gibson for Explorers. Roll call was about India. Mrs. Deb Wilson presented Mrs. John Hill with a gift from the U.C.W. St. Augustine I Augustine C. W.L. was held Parish Hall on Monday even members present and Ft.
