red Heart School with the Jr.

Sacred' Heart gym. Ripley played
against teams from Burford , Kin-
cardine and St. David's who
hailed from Kitchener. In the
final game the Juni& Girls were
defeated by St. David's but they
went on to become runner-up ..for
the day. The Ripley team was
made up of captain Julie Reev-
es , Laurie Coiling,, Barb Grubb,
Patti MacDonald , Donna Gallant ,
Priscilla Zipfel, Janice Farrell,
Jane Anne Coiling, Mary Jane.

UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH
On October 17 level V and Mr.
Brown went to the University
of Guelph to learn more about the
programs offered. Upon the ar-
rival,at the campus, the group
visited the various courses that
were offered.at Guelph. They
were invited to sit in on the clas-
ses and view the facilities. If it
was desired a student 'could sit in'
a 'particular course that .interested
him or her. The Human Genetics
Program was visited by Mr. Brown,
Carmon Courtney , Mark Smith,
Sandy Pollock, John.Huston,
Barry Pollock and Kathy Farrell
while Debbie Tranter toured the
General Arts and Science program
and yet another ,student Dianne
MacKay viewed the facilities that
are *associated with the Associate
Diploma in Agriculture. program.
While we were visiting the univ-
ersity; we met some former
RDHS students., Bryan Boyle, Bruce
Aitken and Carol,Finlayson who
are furthering their studies at.
Guelph. There were other 'second-
ary school students visiting the
university and it gave everyone an
insightOn univeristy life and _the"
courses that one, could take.'
NOVEMBER DANCE .

is not scheduled until Friday,
November 16 ;the Student's Conn=

exams with the students of R.D.S.

FUND RAISING
It's that time again when the
students of RDS are conducting
their, fiind raising campaign. _So
ladies you might.as well forget
your diet•for another week and
buy ..a RDS chocolate bar for only
a dollar! The money raised will
be used for school activities and '
any surplus funds will be donated
to the Recreational Complex.
Remeinber you can't buy much
with a dollar these days so take
advantage of the chocolate bars
and help both yourself and the •
students of R. D. S. !

noticed mid terms will be start-
ing on November 8 and

DRAMA
On Tuesday , October 22 , the
first drama club meeting was held,
This year the teacher in charge
is Mr. Armstrong, , The election
of officers was then held, Elect-
ed to the post of treasurer was
Arlene Tranter. Nancy McGuire
was voted in as secretary and
Dianne MacKay iCchairman for
the year. Janice Reeves was vot-
ed in as director. The next meet-
ing will be held on October 30th
to discuss the play for this year.
INTRAMURAL VOLLEYBALL
On Friday , October 26 the
Girls' Intramural Volleyball
Playoffs were held. Teams two

strong team , defeated our boys .
in three, straight , 15-7 , 15-11
and 15-19. We played Very well,
but could not master our
opponents. 'We congratulate Mr.
Coultes and Mr. Brown and the
junior boys for going as far as they
did 'and we hope for better luck
next season.
